Sequence Analysis is a free, useful and one of the easiest way to extract sequences of 2 or more letters from text files Sequence Analysis is a free, useful and one of the easiest way to extract sequences of 2 or more letters from text files with no need for advance preparation as stripping is done prior to analysis.
Using the Open File button on the tool bar, you may open a standard text (.txt) file for processing. The size of the file in bytes, and the file name and path, are displayed on the status bar.
Using the Close File button, the data stores and displays are cleared.
The Parameter button permits entry of the sequence length and this must be set to at least two (digraph search) and not greater than the length of the stripped data (if set higher, the program will automatically reset the parameter to equal the file length and no repeated sequences will be found).
The Analyse button performs the required analysis and displays the results in the left side window. By default these are displayed in alphabetical order. The results provide a list of sequences appearing more than once, and the frequency at which they occured. The number of different sequences found is displayed on the status bar (if none are found then "Results = 0 item[s]" is displayed).
