Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer 5.0.0.0 is a powerful tool which allows you to generate an inventory of core Microsoft products installed on your local computer, or throughout a network

Major Features:

1. The Microsoft Software Inventory Analyzer tool (referred to as MSIA)scans and analyzes the inventory of software products installed on machines. This program can be used on a stand-alone machine or on the Microsoft Windows Network.
   
2. The MSIA is built specifically to be a starting point to working with SAM, and to that end, it will work with networks that have 250 computers or less; and will locate only Microsoft software.
   
3. The results of the scan are generated in the form of reports. These reports contain information of all the installed Microsoft products and the types of licenses associated with each corresponding product.
   
4. Using the MSIA wizard, you can specify the mode of scan, machines to be scanned, products to scan for, kinds of reports to be generated, and so on.
   
5. In addition, the MSIA wizard includes special features where you can:
   • Consolidate an existing network scan report to a new report.
   • Provide feedback and seek clarifications about the working of MSIA and generation of reports.
   • Consolidate any existing reports with the MLS report(in Microsoft Excel format only)for ease in comparison.

Requirements:

• 20 MB Free Space (Storing reports in all three formats for about 200 machines)
• 64 MB RAM (128 MB is recommended)
• Pentium III or greater
• Windows 98 or above OS
• The user scanning over the network should have domain admin rights on the network.
• For Client OS (Win 98, ME), the Remote Administration service and Remote registry has to be enabled. This can be achieved using login script for Windows 9x machines.
• For Client OS (Win Vista), the Remote registry service has to be enabled. This can be achieved using login script for Windows Vista machines.
• For MLS consolidation, MLS report should be available either on the machine or on the network.
