Microsoft Windows 2000 Update: PCMCIA Device Drive description

This update resolves the "Toshiba PC Card Controller May Power 3.3-Volt R2 PC Card at 5 Volts" issue in Windows 2000 and is discussed in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) Article Q265296. Download now to ensure that the bus voltage handles both 3.3-volt and 5-volt PC Cards appropriately.

In some Toshiba laptops, the Toshiba PC Card controller (ToPIC) might incorrectly increase the voltage of 3.3-volt R2 PC Cards to 5 volts. This problem occurs because the driver for the Windows 2000 PC Card bus does not handle the voltage levels for R2 PC Cards correctly.
