RPM Remote Print Manager Select 5.0.70.1 Ranking & Summary
RPM Remote Print Manager Select 5.0.70.1 description
RPM Remote Print Manager Select 5.0.70.1 offers you a versatile and very useful product. RPM Remote Print Manager is an LPD Print Server that gives you the tools to completely customize your Host and Mainframe print files. RPM will take the print job, perform various transforms, and then send the print job where you need it to go; printer (network or local), email (single person or multiple recipients), print to file (archive print job), and more.
The RPM Print Server receives files from a Host System (AS400, iSeries/zSeries, UNIX, Windows, or any host) via TCPIP protocol. Once received, RPM performs the user?s pre-defined transforms. Once the transforms have completed, RPM can email the print file, save to disk, print raw, and much more.
The new RPM Print Server software includes native print file to PDF. Now you can send your mainframe print file directly to your Windows system and automatically create a PDF, then archive it within a folder or email it to one or many recipients.
RPM expands printing capabilities by giving users more control, formatting options, and file management advantages over traditional network server printing. RPM allows users to customize and control processing of print jobs received on a TCP/IP network from hosts such as mainframes, AS/400s, UNIX and Linux, and other Windows platforms.
RPM fully supports SCS formatting instructions. RPM has easy Print to File (write to disk) options. RPM offers many TCP/IP Printing features not normally found with Host over IP printing situations.

- Output similar to text output with accurate representation of print documents
- Read and write UTF-8, UCS-2, ISO code pages, EBCDIC, and many others
- More support for multi-byte character sets
11. Computer Output Reduction (COR)
- Provides the ability to automatically rotate orientation and scale the font size
- Print job archiving
- Keep a maximum number of jobs, or for a maximum time period
12. Reprint jobs
- Any archived job can be reprinted or copied to another queue
13. Email status and alerts

- Any device that goes to error will be tested periodically
- If your printer goes offline, RPM will start printing to it again when it becomes available
15. Insert & Append Bytes
- You can insert bytes (using our built-in byte editor) or a file before the print job data.
- You can also append bytes (again, with our byte editor) or a file after the print job data.

16. Banner Page Support
- RPM asks whether a banner page should be inserted into the data before printing.
- The drop list offers three choices: suppress banner, always print, and when requested.

17. UNIX to DOS (Convert LF to CR/LF)
- One of our more frequent requests is to solve the "stair-step" problem.
- This often happens when a UNIX file is sent to a DOS printer.

18. String Translations
- RPM supports custom character translations.
- The user can create named translation tables that specify one-to-one single byte translations, that is, any character to any other character.
- Read more about String Translations
19. ASA Carriage Control
- RPM translates ASA Carriage Control format and prints the results.
- This eliminates the need for the host computer to perform the translation into a more standard format such as PCL or PDF.

20. Convert EBCDIC to ASCII
- RPM can convert EBCDIC text to ASCII.
- RPM also supports country-specific extensions to EBCDIC, translating characters not used in the US or United Kingdom to the appropriate ISO 8859-1 codes.

21. Convert SCS to ASCII
- RPM can interpret SCS codes and translate them to ASCII.
- For non-text printing RPM creates line-oriented output using carriage return for overstrikes as appropriate.
- For text output RPM preserves the SCS markup and reproduces attributes such as margins, font size, character position, etc.

22. Use Installed Code Page
- RPM is able to use installed code pages to translate print jobs into a form that Windows can print.
- Code pages typically have a maximum character length of 1 or 2.
- Single-byte code pages include East European, and double-byte code pages include Asian languages such as Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).
