UFS Explorer - What is it? UFS Explorer is a useful and easy-to-use tool witch lets you to browse your alternative filesystems and extract files from there.
With UFS Explorer Standard you may:
- recover files from most used file systems of different OS: UFS/UFS2 (BSD), ReiserFS/Ext2/Ext3 (Linux), HFS/HFS+/HFSx (MacOS), FAT and NTFS with system locked files access;
- access files on virtual disks of leading virtualiztion software.
UFS Explorer Standard supports access to physical disks, USB mass storage devices (including some Digital Camera devices, MP3 players etc.) and set of virtual disks: VMWare, MS Virtual PC, Parallels Workstation (both fixed size and extensible virtual disks); MacOS .DMG (both raw and chunked with ZLIB compression) and plain RAW disks image files.
It auto recognizes different styles of disk partitioning, including basic and dinamic disks, BSD slices, MacOS partition map and no partitoning at all.
UFS Explorer product supports Unicode file names on all supported file systems.
Why not a driver? Because of any incorrect action in driver will crash your OS. Read-only access from user-mode is the safest way to do same job with no risks! To have access to your hard-drives, you should be a local Administrator.
Professional Edition includes full features set, including deleted files recovery from FAT/NTFS and partition image files extraction.

After some file is deleted, it becomes free disk space, so Windows may overwrite such file data with other file and give you no more chance to recover it.
