xStarter is an advanced automation utility that allows system administrators to automate their repetitive tasks. xStarter Web Pilot uses its built-in scheduler to automate backups, file archiving, synchronizing files and folders via FTP, starting specific applications and controlling their output and more. This saves you time and effort.

Yet, a system administrator must often control hundreds of computers. In most cases, you need to run quite similar maintenance tasks on all of the computers in your organization. This is why you need an option to prepare a task once and then deploy it to remote PCs.

xStarter Web Pilot is a version of xStarter that is specifically designed to administer large numbers of remote computers. xStarter Web Pilot works as a system administrators agent on a remote computer. In addition to all the xStarter features, the program accepts remote connections with a web browser. This allows you to connect to a remote computer and manage the scheduled tasks it is running. You can view the list of tasks, watch their status and control their execution. You can, for example, start/stop tasks manually as needed. Execution logs are also available via the web browser interface.

This is done without the use of third party web servers. You dont need to configure IIS or other web server on remote computers. An HTTP daemon is built into xStarter Web Pilot. The HTTP daemon supports SSL for secure connections.

xStarter Web Pilot allows you to create a task locally and then deploy it to any remote machine on which you wish this task to run. This dramatically cuts the time needed to set up scheduled tasks on all the computers in your organization. No web browser interface is needed for deploying tasks. You can deploy new or edited tasks on remote PCs right from your local xStarter copy.

Major Features:

1. Remote control. With Web Pilot it will be possible to create, edit and run tasks on remote computers, view tasks and tasks logs, enable and disable tasks.
2. Edit remote tasks. Tasks from remote computers can be created and edited directly on local computer. Additionally this tasks be downloaded for local editing and use. It's possible to upload edited tasks back to the remote computer.
3. Integrated HTTP server. To control remote tasks, you don't need any additional software. The Web Pilot version contains an integrated HTTP server, so it's possible to control your xStarter tasks from any PC with an Internet browser. Additionally, you can also start your tasks from another web server and from PHP, Perl, ASP scripts.
4. Server side scripts. xStarter tasks can play the role of Server side scripts. You don't need to know PHP or Perl to create PC automation scripts. Each Web Pilot task can receive commands from Web forms.
5. Security. xStarter Web Pilot contain full support for Secure Sockets Layer (SSL). It's possible to limit access to your PC using special IP address list.

Enhancements:

• Actions for working with SFTP have been added, that are SFTPSyncDownload, SFTPSyncUpload, SFTPDownload and SFTPUpload.
• Polish language has been updated. A lot of thanks to Janusz Grzybek.
• Hook libraries have been modified for working with window events and getting window titles in Unicode.
• The FtpSyncUpload action has been optimized. Now the entire structure of the directory on the FTP server will not be requested in case a small number of local directories/files are specified.
• Now it is possible to specify string variable input on multiple lines and to select several files in the InputVar action.
• The parameter allowing you to specify exceptions has been added in the Backup action.
• In case any errors occur in the service application, they will neither be displayed on the screen nor interrupt other active tasks. You will be offered to send reports about these bugs to the support service next time you open the main window of the program.
