BurnInTest Professional 6.0 build 1006 presents you a tool for exercising all of the major components of a computer to test for endurance and reliability. The user can select hardware components to test and individually adjust the load placed on each one via slide bars. Each test reports results to its own window and results are summarised along with any errors detected in the main program window. A computer's major components (including CPUs, raw and formatted hard drives, tape/CD/DVD/Blu-Ray drives, sound and graphics cards, RAM, network connections and ports) can be tested at the same time. Results can be saved to disk, printed or exported as a graphical image. Other features include periodic logging, a temperature monitoring interface and max CPU temperature test, and timed test runs.

BurnInTest will bring intermittent or hidden problems to the surface so that after a successfully run the computer can be used with a much higher level of confidence. BurnInTest can also be used by overclockers to verify system stability at high clock speeds.

BurnInTest tests the CPU, hard drives, RAM, CD-ROMs, CD burners, DVDs, sound cards, 2D graphics, 3D graphic, network connection, printers, video playback. If you have specialized hardware that BurnInTest does not test, you can even write your own test and integrate it with BurnInTest. PassMark has produced plugin tests for Keyboards, Dial up Modems and FireWire ports. This can all be done simultaneously as the application is multithreaded. The Professional version also has a number of additional features such as tape drive testing, USB port testing, USB 2.0 port testing, Serial and parallel port testing with the use of loop back plugs.

Enhancements:

• The number of disks that can be tested has been increased from 20 to 50. Note: This has introduced a new BurnInTest configuration file format. Old file formats will be automatically updated when first opened with BurnInTest.
• A new disk error message has been introduced when trying to test a raw disk that contains partitions.
• Correction to error description for the Disk test bad sector threshold error.
• Tuning the new V6.0 memory test and memory test corrections when the system was under very high load. New logging information.
