BurnInTest Professional 6.0.1007 is a software that lets all the major sub-systems of a computer simultaneously checked for endurance, reliability and stability.

What BurnInTest does is thoroughly exercise the hardware in a PC in a short period of time, in the same way as normal applications use a PC over a long period of time. This takes advantage of the fact that computer hardware tends to fail either very early in its life or after many thousands of hours of use. Typically BurnInTest should be used before a PC is put into service, as the failure of a computer that isn’t being used for a critical application and doesn’t have any critical data is much less damaging, (especially if it is still under warranty).

BurnInTest will bring intermittent or hidden problems to the surface so that after a successfully run the computer can be used with a much higher level of confidence. BurnInTest can also be used by overclockers to verify system stability at high clock speeds.

BurnInTest tests the CPU, hard drives, RAM, CD-ROMs, CD burners, DVDs, sound cards, 2D graphics, 3D graphic, network connection, printers, video playback. If you have specialized hardware that BurnInTest does not test, you can even write your own test and integrate it with BurnInTest. PassMark has produced plugin tests for Keyboards, Dial up Modems and FireWire ports. This can all be done simultaneously as the application is multithreaded. The Professional version also has a number of additional features such as tape drive testing, USB port testing, USB 2.0 port testing, Serial and parallel port testing with the use of loop back plugs.

BurnInTest also gives users access to detailed system information including as the CPU data (such as amount of CPU cores and physical CPUs, CPU features, clock speed and L2 cache size); Physical and Virtual Memory read outs and advanced Graphics Card information. When you purchase the 32bit edition of BurnInTest Pro, you get the 64bit edition for free. The same license key works in both packages.
38. Running BurnInTest from a CD or USB drive.

Enhancements:

• Changed the 2D video memory test default to test local video memory, rather than testing any system RAM used as Video memory as well. With this setting, the memory test should be used to test the System RAM.
• The 2D video memory test data is now pre-committed to memory, improving memory management during the testing.
• Minor tuning to the management of RAM for the memory test, especially for when the 2D video memory test uses a lot of system RAM.
• Correction to the Disk Test, Test all disks, where on restarting BurnInTest, all disks may not be selected.
• Improvements to the Raw disk test and corrections for Physical disks numbered 10 and above.
• New error introduced for the case where a Physical disk is configured to be tested but does not exist on the system.
• Correction to logging script "LOG" commands.
• Correction to the display/logging of the "Notes" field.
• Correction to the test setup window where the Printer duty cycle could be impacted by the setting of the CPU duty cycle.
