File Backup Watcher Professional 2.8.22

File Backup Watcher Professional 2.8.22  is intended for files and folders backup, both with their following archiving, and without it. Backup is possible on a local computer, via Network, E-mail, FTP, CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R and DVD-RW.

The program has the built - in master of profiles creation. That’s why it is now possible not only to carry out "manual" backup but also to adjust the scheduler so that the program would automatically carry out the backup of the specified databases daily, weekly, monthly or once in the established day and time. An additional feature of the program is skins support.

Backup: It is a list of created profiles, which can be executed at the specified time, according to their schedule. They can be grouped and displayed as a tree of folders (like Explorer). The list consists of four columns:

• Name – name of the profile or folder;
• Type – characterizes the type of the line, which is outputted (Can take two values: a profile or a folder);
• Previous Launch – date and time of finishing of the backup process using the specified profile;
• Next Launch - date and time of starting of the backup process using the specified profile.

Near the name of the profile there is an icon, which can have several modes:

• a profile is active and it will be started at the appointed by the program time;
• a profile is not active, that’s why it won’t be started at the appointed time;
• a profile is being executed now and the program is carrying out data backup according to this profile;
• a profile is on hold state in high priority and it waits when another current profile will be executed.

 To create a new profile you can do the following:

• use the path (Profile->New->Profile) in the Main Menu of the program;
• use quick buttons, which are situated under the main menu of the program;
• call the context menu on the list of profiles.

As a result of these actions there will be called a Wizard, using which you can adjust the profile you are creating.
 

To create a new folder you can do the following:

• use the path (Profile->New->Folder) in the Main Menu of the program;
• use quick buttons, which are situated under the main menu of the program;
• call the context menu on the list of profiles.

As a result of these actions there will appear a form for entering the name of the folder you are creating.

The Drag and drop mechanism can also be used in this program. It allows to “drag” profiles and folders from one place of the list into another.

Restore:

• Visually it looks like the “Backup”, but it shows only profiles, which don’t use the e-mail mechanism. It is intended for the restoring of all or chosen files.
• To get access to the archive of the copies (see the picture below), made by the profile, you should select the profile you need and press Enter or double click the left mouse button.
• If you call a context menu, you can select the folder or file you are interested in and copy them wherever you need. The program can also enter ZIP-archives, look them through and extract files, situated inside the archives (see the picture below).
• You can move inside the archive using the buttons Up, Down and Enter.
• You can look through the archives of your backup copies not only on the local drives but in the FTP-folders as well. But in this case the program won’t be able to enter the ZIP-archive.

Log

• It is a list of events, which have occurred since the moment of the program’s launch. It allows to control starting, execution and finishing of the profile. It also allows to trace possible problems, which can appear during the process of the profile execution.
• Not always you can see the full log information. To see it, you should choose the log line you need and double click on it. As a result of these actions you will see the additional form with full information about the action of the program.
• The program can keep the log in two forms: short and detailed. At the picture shown above you can see examples of both forms of the log. Points 3 - 4 characterize the usage of the short log; points 5 and further ones characterize the usage of the detailed log. You can choose the form of the log in the program’s settings.
• Messages about problems and mistakes will be put into any kind of the log (short or detailed).

CD/DVD Record

• CD/DVD Record is a built-in manager for the recording of any information to the CD-R, CD-RW, and also DVD-R and DVD-RW discs. You can record not only backup copies, but any other data, the loss of which may cause harm, as well. CD/DVD Record gives a possibility to work in the mode of recording, rewriting, append and clearing. It is made like Total Commander.
• The CD/DVD Record engine, built into the File Backup Watcher, also allows to record data to the corresponding data medium according to the schedule, specified in a profile

After the installation the icon of the program is placed into the folder Autostart, and after the start the utility places its icon into the System tray, and during the minimization of the main form "removes" itself from the taskbar of Windows. It is very convenient, the program is used as the agent which is constantly started, and in certain time carries out the files backup.

The opportunity of archiving backup files allows to reduce a place on a hard disk, occupied by these files. Archiving is carried out with the help of internal Zip - archive. Archives can be unpacked using WinZip.

The launch of the second copy of the program is not allowed. All adjustments of the program are automatically saved into the Windows registry and at the next start are restored.
