idlebackup V1.16d

idlebackup V1.16d can make a backup to hard-disk, USB drive or network (also compressed to a Zip file). Easy restore for data recovery, browse and select one or more file(s) and press restore (Mirror mode).

Available backup modes in Idlebackup

• Mirror backup:
• • New or changed files are copied on a one to one base (mirrored). The next time a backup is started there are often not so many file to copy, therefore this works very fast. Very well suited to run automatically when the computer is not used (idle).
  • Disadvantage: Only the latest verions of files are available in the backup set.
• Full backup zipped:
• • Everything is packed in a single compressed zip archive. New files are added, changed files are updated
  • Disadvantage: Only the latest verions of files are available in the backup set. Less suited to run automatically when the computer is used. (not idle)
• Sequential backup zipped:
• • Every time when started, all files are stored in in a time-stamped zip backup. Each backup contains therefore all the files present at a certain point in time. In this way old versions of files can be traced and restored,
  • Disadvantage: Consumes quit a lot of space, each time everything is copied. Less suited to run automatically when the computer is used. (not idle)

Major Features:

1. Easy to use backup program also suited for non-advanced users.
2. Easy restore, select directories and/or files to restore.
3. Incremental backup, selected directories and files are copied to a set backup path (1:1).
4. The first backup is a full backup, then each next backup will copy only changed files,
5. no files are deleted (if option "Synchronize backup" is set to off).
6. Option "Synchronize backup" can remove unused files, so only files that are also present
7. on the source hard-disk are kept. See backup description.
8. Manual or Automatic backup (with a set interval time) during idle time of the computer.
