Metamorphose File -n- Folder Renamer 2.0.6.4 is an effective and fantastic open source mass renaming program that combines great flexibility with an intuitive interface. Allows most command line renaming operations in a single utility, perfect for those of us that need to rename large numbers of files and/or folders on a regular basis. However, the ease of the interface ensures a one-time user (I need to rename 5 gigs of mp3's) will not find it frustrating to use.

Major Features:

1. Preview every item to be renamed before comiting changes.
2. Load all files in directory and in subdirectories (recursive renaming).
3. Undo renaming operation in case of mistakes.
4. Regular expression support throughout.
5. Rename MP3 files according to their ID3 tags.
6. Rename image files according to their Exif tags.
7. Full unicode support means any character from any language can be used.
8. Use of all allowed characters under Windows and OSX, all except ':' in Linux.

15. Sequential numbering (enumerating) options :
    • Use integers, alphabetical, or roman numerals
    • Use padding
    • With integers, use any character to any fixed width, or auto pad.
    • With alphabetical, auto pad in this format : aaa, aab, aac, ... aba, ... ygr, et cetera
    • Control step size, starting number, reset count.
