Reg Organizer 5.0 beta 1

Reg Organizer 5.0 beta 1 is considered as a wonderful and extremely powerful set of Registry tools required for effective System Registry management. This software lets you view, edit and safely clean the Registry. It allows to preview the Registry files you want to import (including the ability to preview files directly from Windows Explorer). Includes Registry cleaner, which will safely compact, repair and optimize the Registry.

With Reg Organizer you can thoroughly search the Registry to find all the keys related to a certain application--Reg Organizer does this job quicker and better than other similar programs. With Reg Organizer you can customize the 'Open with...' context menu, delete items from the 'Add/Remove Programs' dialog, specify the programs to run at Windows startup, analyze the shared dynamic link libraries (DLL).

Major Features:

1. Registry editor for viewing and editing the system registry, manipulating the registry keys and values, exporting, importing, copying them, etc.
2. The registry cleaner of Reg Organizer can detect many types of registry errors. These include searching the registry for invalid references to files, folders and DLLs; invalid uninstallation data; finding obsolete and invalid file extensions and other issues. Reg Organizer can repair many of these registry problems.
3. Registry search feature can find all keys related to a certain application and delete them, if necessary. This feature can be useful if you manually delete some application that has no uninstall feature. In this case its keys can be left in the registry interfering with the normal operation of other programs. Reg Organizer provides the deepest search and can often find even those keys, that wouldn't be identified by other similar programs.
4. Defragmenting and compressing the registry: Increase the performance of the registry and consequently the overall performance of your system.
5. Ablilty to change many undocumented Windows settings (tweaks). In particular, it can accelerate the work of your system by sending the system a command to increase cache memory size or by unloading unused libraries, etc.
6. Ability to get information about any selected registry key and monitor changes of the specific keys.
7. Preview of the registry files (*.reg) before adding their contents to the system registry. The files can be viewed directly from Windows Explorer. Reg Organizer presents the file contents in the tree-like form, helping to visualize all keys that will be imported into the registry.
8. Provide quick access to all of the programs that are automatically started when you turn on or logon to your computer. Using Reg Organizer, you can inspect, edit, or disable such programs.
9. Registry search and replace mode offers you a variety of options for searching the registry and replacing the records matching the specified criteria.
10. Built-in software uninstaller. It can take snapshots before and after application installs and eradicate ALL system changes made by an app like it was never installed. Besides, this feature can be used for displaying changes made by the application to each of the system components.
11. Configuration files management. Reg Organizer lets you open and edit (i.e. add/delete/modify keys and sections) INI files of various applications.
12. Disk Cleanup tool lets you automatically remove unnecessary files from the hard drive of your computer, and to search for and fix invalid shortcuts.

Enhancements:

• A new function has been added - System Express Check. It quickly analyzes the main system components and displays information about the extent towhich they need correction or optimization.
• Changes in the Manual Registry Cleanup function:
• • A new category of registry objects, "Registered Applications", was added. It allows you to view, edit or delete applications registered in a respective registry key.
  • Convenient management of the entries list thanks to the ability to group items by a selected attribute. Corresponding grouping options can be accessed by clicking the Group button on the toolbar in a corresponding mode.
  • Now it’s easier to notice invalid and suspicious registry entries since they are shown in separate groups by default. Invalid entries can be deleted by clicking a link in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  • Changes to the startup processes section:
  • • Additional entry information is displayed, including the information about the developer of the startup program and its description.
    • Support of entries registered in the RunOnceEx registry key.
    • Note: the startup entries disabled in the versions of Reg Organizer prior to 5.0 will not be displayed in the current version. Therefore, it is recommended to enable all disabled startup entries before updating to 5.0.
  • An ability to edit entries was added for some new types of items displayed in the Manual Registry Cleanup feature. For example, it was added for entries displayed in the "Applications Paths" and "MUI Cache" registry areas.
  • Ability to display only entries that contains the entered string. To use this feature enter the text you want to use as filter to the input field on the toolbar of the Manual Registry Cleanup mode.
• Changes in the Automatic Registry Cleanup function:
• • The program enables you to detect and correct over 18 categories of registry errors.
  • Simpler and more intuitive interface of the Automatic Registry Cleanup function.
• Changes in the Registry Editor:
• • A functional editor of registry files (.reg) was added to the program. The edited registry file is displayed as a tree, and the program supports virtually all possible operations with the registry file like with the registry itself: adding/deleting keys, adding/modifying parameters, etc.
  • An ability to copy a key to any registry key. In the previous version, the location of the key to which the key could be copied and that of the original key had to be the same.
  • The Favorites function supports adding both keys and parameters.
  • The following registry value types are now supported (this includes displaying and editing): REG_RESOURCE_LIST, REG_RESOURCE_REQUIREMENTS_LIST and REG_FULL_RESOURCE_DESCRIPTOR.
  • Upon exiting the registry editor, the program remembers the last key the user worked with and opens it at the next registry editor start (this feature can be disabled in the program settings).
• 17 settings for Windows Vista were added to the system fine-tuning feature named Tweaks.
• A considerable number of interface items were improved to simplify the use of the program.
• Disc Cleaner function: improved speed and enhanced safeness of operation.
• The program supports Windows Aero effects when running under Windows Vista.
• The following errors have been corrected:
• • Manual Registry Cleanup: no registry backup was created when deleting disabled startup entries.
  • The "Delete file from registry" command in the File menu could work incorrectly.
  • When updating data in the registry editor after choosing the Update command of the "Commands" submenu, some updated keys could not displayed.
