Sentry 3.0 3.0 offers you a useful application which can help you to lock down your computer on demand so it stays secure when you aren't using it.

Sentry can activate if your computer has been idle for a specified period of time, if you click it's icon in the system tray, or if you type a set hotkey. Sentry can also automatically be loaded on startup.

No other programs can be opened, no browser history can be snooped at, and nobody will be touching your files while you're gone. Sentry can even take messages from people who dropped by your workstation while you were away. You can customize the appearance of your screen while Sentry is running, and have your favorite screen savers run within the program.

Sentry can launch from a system tray icon, a global hotkey, or after your computer has been idle (no keyboard/mouse input) for a certain amount of time. The Sentry2Go feature lets you copy the program to removable media such as a floppy disk, USB flash drive, or CD-rom, allowing you to quickly lock any public workstation you may be using.

Sentry is ideal for people in workplaces who may have to leave their system unexpectedly and don't want co-workers to snoop around in their files. Its also useful for teachers, parents, etc, who don't want the kids messing with their computer if its left on.

Major Features:

1. SentryLaunch: This small, 46 KB trigger program can instantly start Sentry by global hotkey, single click, double-click, popup menu, or after an idle period -- just like a Windows screensaver.  Be confident leaving your workstation knowing that Sentry will be protecting it!
2. Away Messages: If you want, Sentry can tell people why you are gone or where you went.  With this feature turned on, Sentry will prompt you for an away message each time the computer is locked down.  You can enter up to 10 pre-defined away messages to use. When Sentry starts because your computer has been idle, Sentry will recognize this and not prompt you for a message (because you're probably already gone!)
3. Message center: If someone walks by your workstation while Sentry is running, they can leave a private message for you to read when you return. The message will show up in Sentry's message panel, and after Sentry ends you can browse any messages left for you. Again, Sentry lets you customize the message behavior with colors, fonts, styles, and more.
4. Themes: Have complete control over the colors and fonts within Sentry. Give it your own look!
5. Graphic customization: You can brand your Sentry Screen with graphics like a company logo, a comic strip, or anything you want.
6. ScreenSavers: Sentry lets you run your existing screensavers within Sentry.This still gives you the robust security features of Sentry, but adds another layer of beauty to it. You can tell Sentry to load a certain ScreenSaver within a specified time after loading Sentry, and also change ScreenSavers afterwards with the ScreenSaver button. Upon the first run, Sentry will detect all installed ScreenSavers on your computer and load them into an internal list, where you can configure them from within Sentry
   
7. Session summary: Sentry provides you with a list of messages left for you, a list of failed break-in attempts, and the total session time that Sentry has been protecting your system. You can view this information with or without unlocking Sentry. Additionally, Sentry can be also log this information to a text file.
8. Sentry2Go: Bring Sentry with you to your local computer lab, or wherever!  The program easily copies to a portable device such as a floppy, USB Flash Drive, or CD-ROM  for use elsewhere. After putting Sentry2Go on a USB drive or a CD, Sentry can automatically lock down the hosting computer upon insertion.
9. Boot configuration wizard: If you are using Windows 95, 98 or ME, the Boot configuration wizard allows you to disable boot keys, your system's boot menu, alter ScanDisk activity, and other low level boot options.
