Shred XP 2.01.01

Three programs in one, Shred XP (1) shreds files, folders, WITH VERIFICATION (2) washes system traces including previously deleted files, recycle bin and hard drive freespace, and (3) eliminates evidence from both internet trails (history, cache, cookies, favorites, typed urls) and from windows (recent documents, temp directories) and third-party programs (Windows Media Player, MusicMatch, Forte Agent Newsreader, ICQ, AOL Messenger, Yahoo Messenger and much more). Shred XP shreds files, registry streams, directory entries and even index.dat files (even if they are locked or shared) using over a dozen military-strength and industry-proven methods including single (fast), triple, DOD-5200.28, Gutmann (18, 23, 26 and 35), U.S. Army AR380-19, U.S. Navy NAVSO P-5239-26 (RLL, MFM), German VSItR and Russian GOST P50739-95.

And, Shred XP is fast and easy to use with a full user-interface. More than the little checkboxes provided by other packages, you can drag and drop and then edit your list of what to shred, even saving favorites lists of what directories to shred each time you run Shred XP. Finally, Shred XP also integrates seamlessly with Windows providing you with context menus and property pages to make shredding your sensitive files intuitive.
