A fast and simple program to find true duplicate files in a network of file servers or in a standalone desktop based on content comparison of your downloaded photo, video, office documents, web pages and photos from your digital camera.
With a mix of methods that compares the file size, time and name along with comparison of content, WinDeDup finds duplicate files from large number of files without overloading the disks with read operation.
By default, matched duplicate files are available in a html report and in a CSV file.
Review the duplicate files report and mark the duplicate files in the CSV file, and then submit the marked CSV file to the data-mover facility of WinDeDeup for batch mode deletion or move of the duplicate files.
WinDeDup has built in support to protect against mistaken cleanup.
You can find duplicate files among all file types or file types combination of your choice (e.g., photos, videos, web pages, office documents etc.), and you can scope based on file sizes and file ages.
Once setup, 2 to 5 mouse clicks will process and clean your system of duplicate files at a rate of 100,000 files with 10GB of data per hour on a desktop.
Added bonus is reporting and handling of unused and old files in the disk.
As oppose to other duplicate file finding software that are highly user interface driven with limited scalability, WinDeDup works in a batch mode with scalability to millions of files.
