WinQuota Corporate Edition 4.5.3

WinQuota Corporate Edition 4.5.3 is very suitable for big companies, with dozens of domains, thousands of users in those domains, multiple servers and has specially optimized interface. WinQuota Corporate provides the ability to specify domains, active directory, and even LDAP queries to find users and groups in huge domains manually.

As its main functionality WinQuota Corporate allows managing directories and files size with blocking any operations that enlarge quota limits. It works fully automatically and administrator intervention is not required to unlock/solve quota overflow. Disk quota settings can not be exhausted by any kind of operation, including file moving, renaming, copying and other.

WinQuota Corporate also enables to set soft quotas. This kind of quota can be exceeded but in this case Administrator will receive a log event with user and quota information. In addition there is a possibility to determine custom scripts and 3rd party programs that can be used as ?soft? quota excess triggers. All the WinQuota settings can be managed as via GUI as using command line tools in the UNIX style.

WinQuota works with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003 at Intel x86 and AMD64/EM64T platforms; Corporate edition is also expanded with support of Itanium platform and Windows 2003 x64 edition. It also supports Windows 2003 cluster environment, and Windows 2003 Appliance Edition.

1. Quota management information needs to be placed nearby the data supporting removable devices. So removable devices with NTFS inside can be easily interchanged between several computers with WinQuota installed. All types of quota are recognized automatically.
2. Technically, all quota managed information is placed into EA (extended attributes) of appropriate files and directories with proper security permissions. Except for backing up and restoring tools all programs have no access to this information by their design (Win32 programs usually have no support of NTFS streams and EA).
3. If current disk operation reaches quota limits, than it is stopped, and there is no way to make files larger than quota settings.
4. Every time any operation like file writing, deleting, renaming or moving files is performed, WinQuota tracks all data changes at the drive.
5. Temporary files are not tracked for quota limits and usually users can operate data even if the limit refuses two copies of a file at a time.

Requirements:

1. Quota management information needs to be placed nearby the data supporting removable devices.
2. Quota information cannot be set to root directory of logical partitions, standard facilities should be used instead.
3. NTFS use is required. All other types of file systems are not supported.
4. Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 2003, Windows 2008.
