Version 2.9.166 adds virtual scroll of 16 channel fader bank and more pre-fetch features.
I. Fader Rack and Output Monitor
The Fader Rack offers full manual control of all DMX channels. The Fader Rack overlays two vertical 16 fader banks (A & B) on top of any of the 32 horizontal banks in the 512 DMX channel array. Bank A faders set the current output while Bank B holds the next preset. A 'bubble up' (B to A) and 'bubble down' (A to B) feature allows easy saving, setting or swapping of fader settings at any position in the 512 element channel array. Display levels are easily toggled between % and DMX values. Bump buttons for each fader additionally can toggle between full on and full off settings. Your custom header color settings and text are easily set, saved and loaded from xml files. The Output Monitor is a display only window that tracks the Fader Rank bank selection and accurately depicts the actual DMX output in the selected bank.
II. Cuelists
Cuelists, are quickly captured from your fader settings and form the memories of your scenes or other control events, for instant recall. While Cuelists are not necessary for all operations they are indispensible for complex and quick recall of settings. Remember your computer mouse can only do one thing at a time while it might be necessary to set multiple channels simultaneously. Cuelists are composed of values for any or all of the 512 DMX channels and contain both fade and hold times for timed events. Cuelists are easily modified, sorted and resaved on the fly and are hot-swappable. Cuelists can also be easily modified with any text or xml editor.
Chase
There are four kinds of chases. 1) Microphone, 2) Cue, 3) Preset and 4) Watch. 1)The Microphone chase listens to the external environment using the microphone from your computer and processes the sound using an internal 16 bank equalizer. 2) Cue chases are easily constructed from any cues on your current cuelist and are easy to design and modify. 3) Preset cues include options like Random, Walking 1-0's, Stagger, wave, etc. Preset options allow customization for floor and ceiling values as well as tempo and rate of change options where appropriate. Chases can be limited to certain channels and floor and ceiling levels and other conditions applied. 4) Watch chases are available but not documented in this release. Basically they allow other remote networked computers to request control of your local computer (e.g. Stagger chase @ 120 bpm) for unattended or distributed computer operations.
Submasters
Tab Submaster contains 8 Submasters, each easily labeled and described and each easily swappable to any cue in your cuelist. In addition there are 5 Preset Cues also easily labeled and described and swappable to any cue in your cuelist.
Cues
Tab Cues is designed to load and run entire cuelists or a specified range of cues within a cuelist. Cues can be set to run either in manual mode or auto mode. In auto mode cues are advanced after the hold time expires. Every cue in a cuelist has a number and a name and a dmx level for any or all 512 channels and can optionally specify a fade (fade-in) and a hold time. Cues are easily renumbered and sorted. Cuelists are simple XML files and can be edited outside of Light Boogie with any text editor.
Trigger
Tab Trigger can start and stop your music and control lighting choreography for your music. Using a 'Trigger and EFX' architecture it has the ability to send a EFX (e.g. cue) at a certain Trigger point (e.g. a designated time in the music). Triggers are usually set to fire at either a wall clock time or at a specified time in the music.
Patch
Tab Patch has both channel Patch and channel Disable abilities. It allows patching of any and all DMX channels to any other channel (channel 0 excepted). It also allows the disabling of any or all channels. Both patch and disable settings are easily adjusted on the fly, hot-swappable and easily modified with any text or xml editor.
Options
Tab Options allows saving of start-up options and also includes configuration options for both external Microphone and Watch (Remote Computer) operations. The Microphone Option allows you to select your microphone input if multiple input sources exist.
Tab Watch or remote computer allows you to select from other networked computers that you might chose to control your chase sequences. With the Watch option enabled it is possible for a remote computer to start, stop chases as well as set the tempo. Cooperative programs such as Dancing DJ allows full automated operations where your chases will follow the music mood and beat. While this feature is fully implemented it is not yet documented in this release so you would need to contact us for more information.
