DirectEncode is implemented as a DirectShow Filter allowing developers to encode all types of media to MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 from within their programs.
The Standard MPEG Encoder lets you encode your video and audio data to standard compliant MPEG-1, MPEG-2 as well as MPEG-4 data. Access is possible over the DirectShow environment or over direct DLL access.
The Standard MPEG Encoder SDK is a software development kit which developers can plug into their existing applications to create standards compliant MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 video and audio files. For example:
- Your application converts between various video format
- Your application captures video from a TV card or the internet
- Your application makes slideshows, and creates video data from photos
- Your application cuts and edits video, and exports to various formats
