Requirements:

1. Visitors:
   • The requirements depend on your used template. The default templates need HTML and CSS and Javascript for increased usability.
2. Author & Administrator:
   • The administration uses Javascript and AJAX, a new generation browser with activated Javascript is required. Please check the FCKeditor compatibility list, to see if your browser is supported.
3. Server (for BIGACE 2.5):
   • At least PHP 5.1 and MySQL 4 is required. We support the gophp5 project and make use of PHP 5 features. The GD Lib is required for automatic thumbnails and Apaches .htaccess support for optimized (beauty/rewritten) URLs.
4. Server (for BIGACE <= 2.4):
   • At least PHP 4.1 and MySQL 4 is required.
5. PHP Modules:
   • MySQL support (obviously)
   • XML
   • SimpleXML (for BIGACE >= 2.5)
   • GD Lib (for thumbnail creation; if not available this feature won't work)
6. All requirements are checked before the installation process. For clean URLs you need the Apache Rewrite modul, see Wiki docu about URL rewriting.
7. PHP must be configured to have at least 8MB RAM (PHP Setting: memory_limit). The (optional) Pre-Installation Script needs ~12MB RAM.
