The metasystems environment combines multiple administration domains, heterogeneous computing platforms and built-in security features. The components were all written in PHP, Javascript, HTML and MySQL. Installation can be done on any host, and from anywhere in the world. Anyone can choose to use a single ISP server, multiple ISP servers, a locally available computer, or any combination of those systems simultaneously. At the same time the computer user is given the ability to access multiple databases located on any number of hosts.
