- Interpreter - This library can analyze a system using OVAL definition files. It comes with documentation and a test suite. All the other components depend on it. This can also be used by application developers who wish to add this kind of functionality to their applications.
- Applet - A GNOME-based applet for your desktop. Allows users to easily scan their systems for vulnerabilities.
- Agent - A command line program for scanning a system
- Editor - A GNOME-based program for creating/editing OVAL definitions and tests
The interpreter takes a set of OVAL definitions and starts to collect configuration and characteristics information about the target system. These are non-destructive probes and are not running any exploit code.
After the data collection is complete it analyzes each OVAL definition and sees if the conditions were met on the target system. When the analysis is complete the results are presented to the user.
You can use the definitions included with Sussen, download some from the OVAL repository, obtain them from a vendor, create your own. It could be any or all of the above.

It sits on your screen, waiting for a click, and on a click it will activate and give you access to your notes. That is, of course, if you enter the passphrase that your notes are encrypted with. For ease, the passphrase will be cached in memory, and expire after a user-configurable time.
The notes themselves are stored in RTF, and encrypted when stored to disk. When the SafeSex window is not open, the notes are not stored in memory. They are encrypted and decrypted on demand.
The encryption used is Blowfish, using the 20 byte SHA-1 of the passphrase as the key. It uses Blowfish in CBC mode, with the initialization vector being incremented every time.
SafeSex keeps running in the background, using very little memory and resources, and automatically keeps itself running across reboots (i.e. if you reboot with SafeSex running, it will come back on startup)<<less

- Sweet Preserve Replaced Case function that will alter the case of replacement string to match that of the string being replaced ? very convenient! (See the help file for a detailed explanation
