Gunamoi Nixie Clock 1.0
Gunamoi Nixie Clock is a free desktop clock that simulates nixie tubes. more>>
After starting Gunamoi Nixie Clock, you can click on the digits to change their size. The Nixie Clock will always display on top of any other windows on your screen.
Nixie tubes were the numeric display technology of choice in the 1960s and early 1970s. Some would call them the pinnacle of the vacuum tube makers art. Each tube contains 10 individual cathodes, each carefully formed in the shape of a digit. The tube is filled with a mixture of gases, including neon. A high voltage applied to one of the cathodes causes the gas around it to glow in a soft orange light.
Because each digit is individually formed, they tend to have a more pleasing shape than seven-segment displays.
In addition, since the digits are lined up one behind the other inside the tube,
there is an extra 3-dimensional aspect to Nixie displays that does not exist with newer technologies. As the digits count from 0 to 9, they appear to march away from the viewer in the tube.
While Nixie tubes were eventually replaced in the West by cheaper, lower voltage seven segment LED displays, and later by LCDs, they continued to be used and manufactured in Eastern Europe until very recently.
A growing nostalgia for the old technology, fueled by availability of stocks of East European tubes, has lead to a small industry in Nixie tube clocks and ornaments.
Unfortunately, a computer display cannot replicate the 3-D effect of Nixie tubes

MemoryLifter 2.1
scientific memorization tool more>> It is scientifically proven that it is necessary to stimulate and activate our brain not only in childhood and youth but also as adults and seniors. Lifelong learning is not only a topic for students and employees. In reality, we are confronted with learning in all areas of our lives. MemoryLifter is a free scientific memorization tool based upon the work of Ebbinghaus and Leitner. It is easy to use and makes learning fun. We are convinced you will find MemoryLifter useful. Sebastian Leitner was a European psychologist who conceived the box system (also called "Leitner system") in the 1960s. Its purpose is to provide a structure for people to learn and retain vocabulary in short-term and long-term memory.
The box system is comprised of a set of boxes (10 in the case of MemoryLifter), each containing a certain number of flashcards. This amount rises proportionally with the boxs number. Also, the higher the box number, the nearer are the respective cards in the long-term memory.
Thus, at any time the quantity of flashcards inside each box level provides a quick feedback of the current state of the users knowledge, and the memory retention (short-term and/or long-term).<<less

Learn and Master Drums 1
Learn and Master Drums wallpaper. more>>
Learn and Master Drums 1 is designed as a professional program. Learn and Master Drums wallpaper. From the tribes of Ghana, West Africa, the traditional Kpanlogo drum is associated with Kpanlogo music and dance of the Ga and Ewe tribes. The Kpanlogo is a member of the membranophone, or drum-head covered shell or vibrating stretched membrane, family of musical instruments. In the 1960s rock band drummers began to change this, by expanding it. An extra bass drum, more symbols - people had gotten skilled enough to require more thing to play with. Electric drums were created, and it is arguable that this is where modern synthesized drum beats used in songs originated from. Whats next for the drum? Who knows. Maybe its time to start adding more. After all, the sky is the limit. Famous drummers are rather well recognized. Ringo Star, Neil Peart, John Bonham all belonged to famous bands and are now recognized as legends. Some have great drum solos which are also recognizable. My favourite drummer? Chad Smith from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. But its not my opinion that mattters - the greatest drummer of all time according to polls is Neil Peart. His drumming is unbelievably fast, and he is rhythmically strong. Hes maybe not as strong with the beat as John Bonham but is he is faster. The strange thing is that Neil Peart was inspired by 2 people - Keith Moon - and John Bonham.
