MYRIAD 3D Reader is a free application that views STL, VRML, 3D DWF and secure 3DF files created by MYRIAD.
MYRIAD 3D Reader is simple to use and runs as a desktop program or as an ActiveX component in a web page.
MYRIAD is a 3D model publishing and viewing system that solves the problems associated with distributing large native format 3D CAD models over the Web or networks to those who do not have access to the original files.
MYRIAD provides conversion of CAD models, where it ?presses? them into the highly-compressed, accurate 3DF (secure) format. Files are securely published with visual rights, including password protection and disabling of printing, cross sectioning, full logging, and the ability to expire published models.
The 3DF formats are viewable by MYRIAD 3D Reader and MYRIAD, which reads the published model and allows it to be visualized and analyzed, but not copied or modified.
MYRIAD 3D Reader does not use an application server, so scalability is not an issue. The published file sizes are so manageable, formerly huge models begin to display in just seconds. Because MYRIAD 3D Reader does not require a live session server, 3DF files can be downloaded or e-mailed and viewed off-line, just as with other popular Web publishing formats.
MYRIAD 3D Reader can also view VRML, DWF, STL, HSF and ICS formatted files.

Ive tried out several commercial polygon reduction tools in the past, and this is easily as good or better than them. Its extremely simple to use and the polygon reduction is great. Very useful for simplifying models made with nurbs or metaballs. It reduced a high-poly vrml model from 617kb to 115kb with practically no difference in appearance. I had to check the wireframe view to be sure of what I was seeing lol. Congrats on a cool tool :)

"Great program, and best of all free." While only supporting one format and you can not view your model with the program. It is still awseome! The reduction methods are great and high poly models when reduced, arnt butchered and can signifitly reduce the polycount with out major quality reduction. Cheers to the developers for this great program (and making it free ;)) mus have for any modeler.

We are right now using XXX (one very expensive reduction tool) and I tested your software and it worked good. In some case better (preserved more details) and in some case a little bit worse. But in total I was very impressed. We want to use CAD files and we all know how much work it is to opimize CAD for real-time. Since there are a wide range of different CAD formats we have to select a format that everybody can export to and I guess that is VRML or maybe stl.
