The problem is that often as a games developer you need to work with many 3d editing tools and rendering engines, and there should be an easy and portable way to move objects, levels, etc. around.

By having a common intermediate file format, you only need to write one exporter per tool and one importer per graphics engine. Also, you can develop generic tools which are not tied to any particular engine.

As soon as you start your server up, it will appear on the list of active servers. From then on people can find your server on the list and jump right in - you dont need to do any more advertising for your server than you feel like.

You do not need any special account to run a server, nor do you need to check with anyone to be allowed to join the server network. Once you have this program installed and configured, it will join the network automatically!

Users can also send messages at any time to other online buddies (all users are visible who have Vypress Chat running in your network). Users can send and receive instant messages and begin chatting immediately after installation.
