ZipFix 1.0 is a powefull utility to extract data from corrupt ZIP files. It searches the ZIP file on a byte level, maximizing the number of files that can be recovered from the ZIP archive.
The Zip file format is probably the most widely used archiving format on Personal Computers today. The format is now 20 years old, originally created in 1989. The format makes use of a well-defined structure and compress each file independantly. When there is any minor form of corruption or data-loss in the file, normal applications won't read the file any more. These applications are dependent on the structure to access files in the archive.
ZipFix does not use the standard defined structure to search for files. Rather, it searches for file markers at byte level, recovering the maximum number of files possible. ZipFix can extract one, multiple or all of the files found in the archive.
ZipFix Demo will allow you to view the contents of a corrupt Zip archive, and will enable you to see the file statistics, but you will not be able to extract files from the Zip archive. The full version will enable you to extract Zip files from the archive, and is available at $19.99.
