ac3fix checks an AC3-file for bad frames. If it encounters such a frame, it
either skips it, cuts it down to correct size or repeats the last correct
frame.
This action is determined by the wrongness, i.e. the difference in file size
between the original file and the fixed one. ac3fix tries to make the wrongness
as small as possible.
Syntax:

eac3to is able to convert E-AC3 and TrueHD audio tracks to AC3 or FLAC eac3to is able to convert E-AC3 and TrueHD audio tracks to AC3 or FLAC.
TrueHD conversion unfortunately doesnt work with demuxed TrueHD files at this point in time. The to-be-converted TrueHD track must the first (or better: only) audio track in an EVO file. Please use the EvoDemux tool to create one EVO file for a full movie with only the TrueHD audio track in it.
Usage: eac3to src.eac3|evo|wav dst.ac3|flac|raw|wav [-options]
This tool can convert a 2.0 or 5.1 E-AC3 or a 5.1 TrueHD track to AC3/FLAC.
Options:
-192 use 192 kbit/s for AC3 encoding
-448 use 448 kbit/s for AC3 encoding
-640 use 640 kbit/s for AC3 encoding
-orbitlee force the use of Orbit Lees DD+ source filter
-nero force the use of Neros filters
-keep24 dont convert TrueHD output to 16 bit
-96000 TrueHD output is 96 kHz
Supported source files are:

AC3File was designed to be a DirectShow source filter. It is required to read any kind of AC3 or DTS files.
There are many kinds of AC3 and DTS files. Some files are ripped from AC3/AudioCD or DTS/AudioCD, some files are ripped from DVD in PES container some files may have different byte order. All of these files are supported by AC3File.
Following AC3 formats supported:
- 8bit
- 16bit big and low endian
- SPDIF-padded AC3 (any number of bits and endian)
Following DTS formats supported:
- 8bit
- 14bit big and low endian
- 16bit big and low endian
- SPDIF-padded DTS (any number of bits and endian)

It is possible to upmix any audio source to 6 channels. Filter can do multi-channel and digital (SPDIF) output. It can encode any audio source to AC3 on-the-fly and send it over SPDIF to the receiver.

This application addresses some of the volume issues with transcoded AC3 files. It is based on a Soopa toolkit, just in a GUI format. Soopa created some batch files, which use AviSynth, Aften and WAVI.
It is very easy to use. You can either process a group of AC3 files in a specified folder, or drag and drop AC3 files into the application folder for processing. You can select your own bitrate and level of dynamic range compression.

A very useful AC3 Decompressor for VirtualDub This application is a AC3 ACM Decompressor for VirtualDub.
The core is based on liba52, and it works with most any ACM client (VirtualDub, TMPGEnc, Avisynth, CoolEdit, etc).
If youve never installed the decompressor before, simply right-click on the "AC3ACM.inf" file, and choose "Install" from the popup menu. I dont think its necessary to reboot, but it cant hurt. If you get a scary warning that the program has not passed "Windows Logo testing" (which is quite true BTW), choose to "Continue Anyway."
To uninstall the decompressor, start Control Panels "Add/Remove Programs"
dialog, select "AC-3 ACM Decompressor", and press the "Add/Remove" button.
If you have installed a previous version of the decompressor, it is recommended that you uninstall the old version as described above, and reboot Windows before installing this version. (Its probably not necessary to do all that, but again, it cant hurt.)
