Addams Family: Pugsleys Scavenger Hunt - The Addams Family: Pugsleys Scavenger Hunt is a video game released by Ocean in 1993. It was based on the second Addams Family animated series.
It was released on all three of Nintendos systems at the time:
Super NES in February, 1993
Game Boy in July, 1993
NES in August, 1993
The Game Boy version was ported for the system by Enigma Variations Ltd.
The game is a side scrolling platformer adventure game that is very similar to the original Addams Family SNES title. A major source of criticism for the SNES version was the lack of a password feature. A password feature is present on both the NES and Game Boy versions.
The plot of Pugsleys Scavenger Hunt centered around Pugsleys attempts to win a scavenger hunt challenge proposed by his sister, Wednesday. His hunt takes him to the bedrooms of each member of the Addams family in order to find one item from each.
Its interesting to note that the NES version was not a direct port of the SNES version. The NES version was actually based on the previous Addams Family game released for Super NES, Mega Drive and Amiga, showing the same levels, enemies, items and gameplay but with Pugsley as main character instead of Gomez.

Spooky ghosts, monsters, spiders, evil witches & glowing eyes haunt this light-hearted release. Events are triggered when the mouse pointer is moved over points on the screen. These points are invisible so the user must explore the screen to discover the animated images. ?I?ll get you!? cries a cackling old woman as she flies across the screen on her broomstick. Just then a small army of spiders descends from the ceiling and wakes up the aquatic monsters and their morphing tentacles.
The clock features atmospheric ticking sounds which can be toggled to a silent sweeping motion. The music can be turned on or off and sound volume controlled directly from the screensaver. The release also features an October event countdown to 7pm on the night itself when the Pumpkin glows and wishes a ?Happy Halloween?.
Ideal screensaver for trainee ghosts, ghouls, vampires, werewolves, witches, wizards, zombies, banshees, monsters, demons, hellhounds and phantoms. Requires Adobe Flash Player 8 or above.
