Grouping
- Drag-and-drop Grouping
Single and multi-level grouping. A long grid report can be transformed into a quick summary report in just a drag-and-drop operation. The group summary functions available on a mouse click (Sum, Count, etc.) add value to these summary reports.
- Date Grouping
Group report data by Year, Quarter, Month, Week using a date field (For e.g. you can compare sales figures by Quarter using the Order Date column)
- Range Grouping
Group report by pre-specified ranges of data. The ranges can either be auto generated by choosing number of ranges or by specifying ranges manually (For e.g. you can identify and group high value customers by specifying revenue ranges)
- Powerful Charting Options
Report data can easily be represented visually using a variety of charts like Pie, Bar, Line, Radar, etc. The dynamic charting window helps users drag and drop fields into the chart pane to see different perspectives of the data visually. Further the drill down charting option helps users mine multiple levels of data with little effort. Creating a drill down chart is as simple as dragging multiple fields into the X-Axis in the chart pane. Special Report Types
- Linked Views
This is a type of report which combines two grid reports in a single view, where the data in the linked grid changes dynamically based on the row selected in the base grid. For e.g. consider a Customer Orders report. The Customer Master grid is linked to the Order details grid. By just clicking on a customer master record in the base grid, you can see all transactions relevant to this customer in the linked grid. This is a simple and efficient way to analyze volumes of data.
- Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts
An interactive table/chart that captures large amounts of data in a capsulated summary form. Users can perform advanced analysis on a pivot table or chart and generate meaningful information and valuable insights from a huge amount of data without having to scroll through rows of base data.
- HTML sub-views
Data and links can be either viewed in a separate browser window or within the Report Analyzer window
Other features
- Computed Columns
A computed column displays value using an expression that can refer to the values of other columns in the same row. Computed columns are especially useful in situations where users want to index a complex expression that may include the values of one or more dependent columns.
- Filtering
Filter the records displayed in a report based on a date range, specific customer group, etc.
