Fasterfox Lite 3.6.1 is an effective utility allowing you to tweak Firefox.

Prefetching was removed for this Lite version because it potentially wasted a lot of server bandwidth as well as causing unnecessary server load.

1. This addon is stable but was sandboxed due to its simplified ability to add possibly excessive configurations.
2. Lite does not mean less performance, it is just a reference to the removal of the obtrusive prefetching ability in Fasterfox. Prefetching was removed for this Lite version because it wastes a lot of server bandwidth and causes unnecessary server load.
3. Fasterfox Lite allows you to easily tweak many network and rendering settings such as simultaneous connections, pipelining, cache and initial paint delay. LeechBlock 0.4.3 is considered as a professional and intelligent extension for the Firefox web browser that will block those time-wasting sites sucking the life out of your working day. All you need to do is specify which sites to block, between which time periods, and on which days of the week.

Note that the password feature is not intended for security purposes, but only to make it more difficult to bypass the blocking in haste — to delay you just long enough for your reason/conscience to wrest back control from your baser instincts! So a lengthy but memorable password will be most effective. Suggestion: try 'antidisestablishmentarianism'. It works for me! Alternatively, try one of the random access code options.
Important note #1: LeechBlock is not designed for parental control or for blocking offensive content. You are advised not to try to use it for these purposes.
Important note #2: Although LeechBlock prevents you from browsing sites (at the specified times) it may still allow your Firefox browser to briefly connect to those sites (so that, e.g., your IP address may still be logged by the blocked site).
