Passback for AOL Instant Messenger 1.0 is an application to restore passwords for FTP, IM and email clients. It is free. Many client applications will store username and login information for each site, rather than asking the user for them on every connection. The PassBack suite is a set of components that can decrypt the password information from the client application's password database and display them in plaintext. The main limitation of this approach is that a seperate component has to be written for each client application, and therefore many applications are not supported.
