Applibase DataCaster is a useful Java-based distributed relational database, created to integrate and publish data between applications on the web. The DataCaster distributed database makes remote data readily accessible in the local database, and makes it possible to view, cache, and query data directly from other applications on the web. Using a loose-coupled model for distributed relational data, DataCaster allows diverse web sites to provide applications with shared data across multiple sites. Web sites can share data with anonymous or authenticated access as required, authorize specific subsets of data, and control usage of the data.

Applibase DataCaster provides new distributed data features in a standards-based relational database, with SQL and JDBC support. In addition, DataCaster also provides applications a direct Java API into the internal tables, indexes, etc. in the database.
