<<lesseAutoRun 1.0
eAutoRun was created to assist CD authors in the process of making the files required to autostart (autorun) an HTML file more>>
This single executable file (eAutoRun.exe ) is placed in with the other files ready to copy to CD. This exe file is then run, which brings up a setup screen.
The required HTML filename is typed in and when OK is clicked, the program produces the required autorun.inf file and a special eautorun.html file which has, as part of its contents, the filename of the HTML file which you wish to launch.
These three files eautorun.exe, eautorun.html and autorun.inf are then placed on the CD with the other files including of course the HTML file you wish to launch.
When the finished CD is placed in the drive the autorun.inf file will cause the eautorun.exe file to run. The eautorun.exe finds the required files and then launches the required HTML file for you. (The setup screen will not appear.)

BeCyAutoRun 1.11
A simple tool designed to open a document as if the user had double clicked on it more>> A simple tool designed to open a document as if the user had double clicked on it
The AutoRun feature of CD-ROMs which is controlled by an AutoRun.inf file only allows executing applications but does not support opening simple documents (e.g. a HTML page).
The BeCyAutoRun application was designed to be a simple tool that will do nothing but open a document as if the user had double clicked on it.
Version restrictions:
- The usage of the command-line is fairly simple. The important parameter expected is a relative path specification to the document file to open. Note that the path to the document is relative to the root directory of the CD-ROM and not to the directory the utility is located in.
- As another parameter one can optionally specify -maximized or -x on the command-line. This way the document is to be displayed in a maximized rather than a normal window.
- The latest release allows storing a manufacturer-specific support information within the Autorun.inf of the CD-ROM. This info text is displayed at the end of an error message and enables the end user to access technical support in order to solve the problem.
- The declaration of this support information within the AutoRun.inf is done via the key support in the section autorun. The value of this key is a simple string in which the pipe character (|) may be used to insert line breaks.
Enhancements:
- User interface:
- localized error messages
- Usage:
- allowed storing a manufacturer-specific support informati

<<lessAutoRun 1.31.1162
AutoRun.exe is a tool intended to be used with the Windows 95, 98, Me, NT4, 2000, and XP AutoRun facility more>>
One limitation of the standard AutoRun facility is the fact that it will only run executable programs; it will not by itself open document files such as web pages or text files. AutoRun.exe is designed to circumvent this restriction: it will open any number of document files or start executable programs. Moreover, it is smart enough to use a sensible fall-back strategy if no documents can be opened, perhaps because the target system does not have the required support for those document types.
AutoRun.exe requires no special support files apart from the usual autorun.inf file; in fact, it will even function without that file. Its flexibility and small size (only 8 KB) ensure that it loads very quickly and fits in almost any situation, even if the CD-ROM is nearly full.
