The source file is the nfc or nbu file (depending on the version of the Nokia PC Suite) created by the Nokia PC Suite. The files are typically found in C:\Documents And Settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Nokia\ContentCopier. Application Data directory is a hidden directory. You can make it visible by selecting Show hidden files and folders from Tools -> View -> Folder Options in the explorer window menu. The contacts.txt file should be created in the contacts directory (Figure 1) (or the root directory, Figure 2) of your TomTom device.
