Pilot Catapult is an installation kit specifically developed for the needs of the Palm platform. The simple drag-and-drop interface allows installation setup in less than five minutes.
The kit produces one compressed, self-extracting, executable file for Microsoft Windows. Neither Palm AIDE nor MFC DLLs are used, resulting in size savings. Installation of Palm OS files is done through the HotSync process.
Catapult?s main goal is to simplify the installation process by making it more familiar to end users and reasonably powerful and flexible to the application developers. This results in two important benefits for the developer:

Pilot Catapult is also capable of installing the desktop components for most PalmOS applications, which effectively means it can also be used as a desktop software installer. Yet, Catapult was designed with mobile applications in mind and should and could not be a match in functionality to full blown desktop installers such as InstallShield and Wise.
