This is accomplished by using small images and CSS. Its much quicker to implement, and faster to download than adding frames through Photoshop or another graphical editor.
Most web hosts offer PHP as a default service, so installing Online Photo Frames is easy. Just download, unzip, upload and then follow some simple instructions you can find in the README file to add frames to any element in your web page.
These frames utilize CSS to insure that your visitors dont have much extra overhead. Adding one style of frame to your page only adds around 10-15K (the size of a small photo) to the page, and once youve used it once, you can use it again as many times without your visitors having any extra download.
