ClassRoom GradeBook (former ClassRoom Windows) is a Windows 9x/XP and Vista Freeware program for teachers. It is designed to make your record keeping and grading much easier. Version 8 features a new active main screen from which many program functions can be easily performed. In the program, you can create your class files with an unlimited number of students, and optionally password protect your files; edit your class roster, including ID, comments and home-contact information; enter/edit grades and attendance; view/print students records, by name and/or ID, in many ways; compute/print student averages and final grades by using many options supplied by the program (i.e., by assigning weights to individual testing instruments or to types of testing instruments, or by using points); save the options you chose when making up grades; save 3 sets of rounding modification values; and view/print statistics. A roadmap and wizard are included to assist new users, along with a PDF documentation file and context-sensitive help. All of these fully functional grade book features are yours to use for free. Included within the Freeware package is an optional resource for those seeking some additional bells and whistles: a 45-day evaluation of ClassRoom GradeBooks Pro edition. This edition makes it possible to append student info from a variety of text files; import/export names/grades for a full class; transfer names/grades for an entire class from one file to another; open more than one file at a time; set up printer options; view/print color graphs of student performance; produce seating charts; use a built-in word processor/mail merge to communicate with parents; save reports as text or HTML files for editing, printing and/or e-mailing to parents through the program; keep daily attendance records; compare grades among several classes and produce statistics; change the order of your grade titles; and edit the titles of type categories. |

ClassRoom GradeBook is the culmination of many years of work on a free Gradebook Program aimed at making the difficult working life of teachers everywhere an easier one. This is the eighth version of the program--and its third metamorphosis. Over a decade ago, in the early days of Windows 9x, "ClassRoom Windows" appeared on the scene. Each new version introduced new and improved features. When Windows exited the 9x world and entered the NT-based XP environment, the program--in Version 7--evolved into "ClassRoom Portals." In preparing for the Vista era, the program reaches Version 8, and emerges--with a new data-file format and a multitude of new, more powerful features--as "ClassRoom GradeBook." ClassRoom GradeBook was created by two urban public school teachers with decades of real-world classroom experience. The program has one basic premise. You, the teacher, are entering a huge, enchanted "ClassRoom" filled with many portals through which you must pass as the term progresses. But you are not alone; your computerized "GradeBook" will guide you through these doorways at different times during the school year to make your record keeping and grading much more efficient. Features: Using ClassRoom GradeBook freeware, you can create your class or subject files [a wizard is included to assist new users] edit your class roster, including ID, home-contact information and comments enter and edit grades and attendance classify each grade according to type, e.g., test, quiz, homework, etc. view and print students records in many different and useful ways compute and print student averages and final grades by using many options supplied by the program make up grades using "types" use the Total Points System of Grading view and print statistics follow a "roadmap" designed to help you navigate through the program view or print ClassRoom GradeBooks Users Guide [in PDF format] use context-sensitive help |

Classroom Publisher was created for you. Its not a humongous over-loaded blob of confusing options. We tested every feature with real teachers, real school secretaries, and real principals. (We let one real superintendent try it, but we had to keep pointing to the keyboard and offering him puppy treats.) Our borders can be resized without distortion. Make a border around a small item on the page or enlarge it to fit a wall chart. The clip art collection is original and is geared to school life. There are also icons for calendar accents. A single Classroom Publisher document can hold an unlimited number of pages. You can move through the pages by clicking the indicator at the bottom of the window or by selecting a menu item. Use Classroom Publisher to open text files created in other applications. You can even import graphic formats like PostScript files, GIF, TIFF, PICT, and more. After importing, you can edit graphics with the built-in paint program. Not only can text be colorized and reshaped, it can be styled in enumerable ways. Our Font menu shows the font by name and as styled text. Our Style menu displays more than the normal set of Macintosh styles -- it adds items for strike thru, superscript and more. In Classroom Publisher, text is more than a set of characters that you place in a row. Classroom Publisher lets you shape and mold text so that it is exactly what you need. Most programs only let you import art. But we also provide a built-in collection of art and a paint program for editing, rotating, cropping and painting in Classroom Publisher. Holidays, personal events, birthdays, and more are automatically displayed. Squeeze an entire year onto the back of a business card or spread a single month over a wall-sized banner. Classroom Publisher stores information in blocks. You can put text into a block and then move the entire block -- not just the text -- anywhere on the page. You can even resize the block. This is also true of pictures, icons, calendars, borders, and other items in Classroom Publishers bag of tricks. Classroom Publisher creates: * Cards * Newsletters * Wall-sized banners and posters * Labels * Postcards * Folder Labels * Badges and more... Limitations: · Registration screen at startup. |
