Free colour software for windows

This is a very simple application used to pick a colour from a window on the desktop.
Just start the program and move the mouse over the area you want the colour of and click.
The colour is then presented in Web form ready to be copied to the clipboard.
The preceding hash sign can be turned off to make it easy to copy the value to other graphical editing programs.
Use the mouse to select the colour from the screen. Double click the colour box to copy the value to the clipboard (or use the toolbar button).
When selecting a colour pressing and holding Ctrl will cause the app screen to fade allowing selection of a colour through the window.

Colour Coder allows you specify colors for all the standard elements in an HTML document.
It also allows you to specify a background image to be used, and various browser-specific tags.

Colour Editor can change a particular colour in a bitmap to another colour when there are a lot of seperated regions of the colour, which would take a long time to change by filling each one.
It is also able to change colours that are not exactly the same by adjusting the tolerance, which can be used to edit colours in photos.

Loads a Photoshop swatch file [.aco] and allows the user to search the colours in the file to find the nearest matching colour to the one they enter. This product is a work in progress, with many features planned. CMYK colour formats are not yet supported. Full source code available on the webpage.

Colour Detector is an advanced colour picker software that can allow the user to pick a colour from the screen or a palette and receive RGB, HEX, HTML & Long values.
You can also enter one of these values to the software and it will display the colour to you & convert it to all other colour types.
Note: This software requires the Visual Basic 6 Runtimes. These are installed on Windows ME and above machines. If you are running Win95/98 or NT4 download the runtime first from Microsoft.

A freeware program designed for Windows 95 / NT. It lets you specify colours for all the standard elements in an HTML document. It also allows you to specify a background image to be used, and various browser-specific tags. You can start from scratch, or you can import the document attributes from an HTML document. You can pick from a pre-defined colour pallet, specify the red, green and blue values individually, or snag the colour from any image or window you have open. At any time during the colour editing, the equivalent HEX value is always visible and ready to be copied to the clipboard for use as you please. Once you have finished, the resulting HTML body code is available to view and copy to the clipboard, or you can export the code to an HTML file.
