The Proxima Controller is an utility that allows you to use the mouse and computer keyboard to play external MIDI devices such as synthesizers and tone generators.
It is also possible to play internal devices if they are designed to respond to MIDI messages (for example, the Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth). This application makes no sounds of its own and instead relies on the MIDI devices it is controlling to produce sound.
It supports bank and patch changes, transmits on MIDI channels 1-16, includes pitch and modulation sliders, and has five octaves of control.
The GUI for this application was developed using wxWidgets.

automatically turns off the aero interface more>> Introducing "Aero Controller", the program that automatically turns off the Windows Vista Aero interface (Translucent/Transparent windows) when you unplug your notebook computer from its AC Adapter. The best thing is is that it can re-enable the Aero interface when you plug it back in. This program was born out of the need for me to have a little bit more battery life when Im on battery while at college. I noticed that when the Aero interface was enabled that my battery life... well, sucked. I cooked this little program up in about half an hour. The hardest part was finding the appropriate Win32 API functions to manipulate the Aero interface. Anyways, Version 1.0 Build 19 is now available! This version no longer uses message boxes to show program alerts, it uses Balloon Tooltips instead. Also, when you hover your mouse over the icon in the clock-tray, it now tells you whether your battery is fully charged or the percentage of the battery remaining. Build 19 introduced a new Balloon Tooltip in which if you simply click on the icon in the clock tray it will give you a mini-status report of your notebooks power status.<<less
