MipEdit is a program for the editing of the individual mips contained within a DDS file or within the Extended 16 bit format textures used with CFS2 and FS2002.

PosteRazor - Make your own poster! The PosteRazor will cut a raster image into pieces which afterwards can be printed out and assembled to a poster.
As input, the PosteRazor takes a raster image. The resulting poster is saved as a multipage PDF document. An easy to use, wizard like user interface guides through 5 steps.
Main features:
- Input image formats. All image formats that FreeImage can read should be usable as input for the PosteRazor: BMP, DDS, Dr. Halo, GIF, ICO, IFF, JBIG, JNG, JPEG/JIF, KOALA, LBM, Kodak PhotoCD, MNG, PCX, PBM, PGM, PNG, PPM, PhotoShop PSD, Sun RAS, TARGA, TIFF, WBMP, XBM, XPM
- Image types. PosteRazor can handle the following image color types: Monochrome, Grayscale, 4 Bit palette, 8 Bit palette, 24 Bit RGB, 48 Bit RGB (only via TIFF and PNG), 32 Bit CMYK (only via TIFF). 32 Bit RGBA images can be loaded, but are transformed to 24 Bit RGB by "merging" them with a white background.
- Dimension Units. Because people around the world invented so many different dimension units, PosteRazor supports quite a few:
- m, mm, cm, inch, ft, pt(72th inch)
- Printer page layout. The page size and orientation of the printer where the poster will be printed can be set manually or selected one from the following list of predefined formats:
- DIN A4, DIN A3, Legal, Letter, Tabloid
- The size limit for one page is 5 meters (16.4 feet), which is the maximum that PDF allows.
- Poster size. The size of the final poster can be set one of these three ways:
- Absolute image size: You want to have a specific size of your poster.
- Size in Pages: You want to use whole paper sheets and specify how many of them of them you want to use.
- Image Size in percent: Your input image has a certain size which is defined by the number of pixels and dpi (dots per Inch) and your want to scale the image by a certain factor.
- The final size of the poster is theoretically unlimited. Lets say it this way: it is less limited that the ink of your printer ;)
- It is possible to select the alignment of the image on the total paper. This is useful if you want to keep the unused paper.
- Image tile overlapping. For a bigger tolerance when cutting spare paper borders and for easier pasting, an overlapping width and height of an image tile over the next can be set.
- PDF output. The PDF output is implemented with the maximum image quality and a good compression in mind. A source image is embedded once in the PDF document and referenced from every tile page. Image color types remain unchanged. As compression method, the PDF "FlateDecode filter" (zip) is used. If a Jpeg image is used as input it gets directly embedded into the document without recompression. The PDF version is 1.4, so any Acrobat Reader version 4 and higher should be able to read the resulting document.

This is a basic Contact database application. This version offers searching by last name or company name.

DXTBmp - 16/32 bit Texture Formats in Flight Simulator and CFS2
FS2000 introduced several new texture formats for Aircraft and Objects. Expanding on the 8 bit Extended Bitmap format introduced in CFS it added the increased colour depth of 16 bit (65536 colours) and larger texture sizes (up to 1024x1024 and also non-square). These 16 bit textures came in 2 main variations - 4444 (4 bit transparency) and pure 565 for normal textures for textures requiring an Alpha channel (mainly Clouds but also used for some objects requiring transparent parts).
The Beta version of CFS2 introduced another format - 5551 (1 bit Transparency) which is not supported by FS2000.
The Release version of CFS2 replaced the 565 and 5551 formats with a new compressed format. Instead of four 565 "Normal" and four 5551 "Damage" 512x512 textures for each of the main Aircraft it uses one DXT Opaque "Normal" and one DXT Opaque+Alpha "Damage" 1024x1024 texture for each Aircraft. Because these are compressed they are each the same filesize as just one of the old 512x512 textures giving a saving of several megabytes for each Aircraft.
CFS2 also supports another new format - DXT3. This doesn`t seem to be used in any standard textures but will work. DXT3 is a combination of DXT1 with a 4 bit Alpha Channel. Basicly giving the functionality of the 444-4 format with 50% compression.
Both FS2000 and CFS2 support a 32 bit 888-8 format also. This has 24 bit RGB with an 8 bit Alpha channel
FS2002 continues the use of DXT started by CFS2. The DXT3 format is used in the default Aircraft to add Reflective values to a texture using the Alpha channel. This feature relies on the internal coding of the MDL so Aircraft created with FSDS will see the DXT3 Alpha channel as a normal Transparency channel while FS2002 Default Aircraft (and possibly new Aircraft created with the GMax design program) will see the Alpha channel as a "Reflection map".
CFS3 took a new direction and wen over almost exclusively to DDS format for textures. It also extended the use of DXT by adding DXT5.
