dead.licious is a tool for verifying that all of your bookmarks in your del.icio.us accounts are still valid and gives you the option of removing those dead links.

Right now, the feature set is not as complete as I would like it to be but I wanted to get this version out there to gauge interest in this kind of tool.
Currently, this is what Im looking to implement in the next version that includes new features:

Faster checking of websites by checking several at once instead of one at a time.
Keychain support so you dont have to type in your username and password each time.
Editing bookmark information and submitting the changes back to your del.icio.us account.


Whats New in This Release:

· Fixed a bug that prevent the bookmarks page for a user using Simpy to be opened. Added a breakdown of errors encountered that is displayed in the log window after checking the bookmarks.
· Fix button converted to an icon button to make room for a Delete icon button which removes the selected bookmark from the users account.
· Fixed a bug where the tags from a Simpy bookmark were stored space separated instead of comma separated.
· Updated libcurl and libssl to their most recent versions (7.16.1 and 0.9.8e, respectively).
· I made a couple custom icons that you can use to replace the del.icio.us-centric application icon but theyre really, really, really bad. You can find them on the project web-page. Ill send out a free license file to anyone who can make a better icon than me (which, to be honest, wont be that hard).

Still, every manufacturer has a dead pixel policy, which you should read carefully. If you find any defective pixels on your new LCD monitor or plasma display during the warranty period, it may qualify for a replacement.

There are 3.9 million sub-pixels (red, green and blue) on a standard 1280x1024 resolution LCD monitor, and each of these is a microscopic transistor.

While the defective rate of pixels on LCD panels and plasma displays is very low, due to the large number of sub-pixels, manufacturers cannot guarantee 100% error-free panels at an affordable price.

To make things more difficult, it is not possible to test any pixels before full assembly of the panel, and fixing any pixels is not possible after assembly.

Before trying to grasp the meaning of a dead pixel, first you need to understand the technology behind LCD displays. An LCD display is essentially made up of pixels. Each pixel is made up of red, blue and green valves. The valves in each colour either block or pass the light source. By manipulating the amount of light passed through, each pixel displays a distinctive colour on screen. Pixels consisting of these valves are what make up the image that is ultimately displayed on the screen. A typical monitor has millions of pixels. A dead pixel refers to a pixel with a defect in its ability to display the correct colour output. It may look like a tiny black spot on your screen, or any other colour that does not correspond to what the actual image should look like.

If youve scoured every inch of your screen but cant find a single dead pixel, you are in luck. Because of the complexity of the design, it is generally regarded dead pixels appearing in some products are inevitable. If you need to absolutely make sure whether you have purchased a defective display, you can use this program. It simply paints your entire screen with one of the colours that make up a pixel to make the dead pixel more conspicuous to the naked eye. Run through the red, green and blue colours in turn and check for pixels that do not match.

Dead Disk Doctor - Designed to easy copy files from damaged, scratched or partly unreadable disks or other media.

Dead Disk Doctor is a software that allows you to copy disk files.

The idea based on two types of errors (input/output error and path/file access error). Routine reads file by 10kb blocks and when hardware involves errors, the size of block decrease tenfold and so on until the moment when block of data will be read without any errors, or it reach minimum size of block, then program skips one byte and starts to read second one. After successfully reading data, block size increase tenfold again and again to reach maximum size - 10kb.

iTunes Dead Links Cleaner is a script which deletes music files that are still listed in the music library yet whose original tracks no longer exist. You find out about these so-called "dead links" when you play them but you only get that bloated exclamation mark (!) telling you that your music file or files are gone for good!

DPT was written to help me check my own screens by cycling through the three primary colours used (red,green,blue) and all on (white) and all off (black).

Pop-It Dead is a free and very useful pop-up blocker utility.

Not only is it free but it may be one of the best third party blockers on the net. It uses a special event tracking method for IE to make sure it blasts about 99.5% of all pop-ups. It was created to remain simple yet block pop-ups powerfully. It even blocks spyware and messenger service pop-ups.

You can choose if you want it to run in your start up and be notified when a pop-up is blocked. If you want to allow a pop-up you can hold CTRL or add a URL to the allow list. If you think you have had an important pop up blocked you can find out past blocked window information.

Dead Link Check (DLC) is a Perl script designed to find information on validity of HTTP references. The script may use/generate a cache file for avoiding redoing network requests if the user wants to check added entries. The script works by reading entries from a file (or a list of links from the command line) and output results in file(s) (or STDOUT). DLC was created as an extension to Public Bookmark Generator (PBM), but can be used on its own.
