Correct bad structured midi files MIDIFix is a simple command line tool designed to help you correct bad structured midi files.
From writing utilities MIDI2TXT and TXT2MIDI I got some knowledge of midi file format. Once a person on net searched for help on reviving a defect midi. I had a look at it and found that the note data seemed to be ok but the structure of the midi file was lost. The number of midi tracks and the length field of most tracks were 0.
I measured the number of tracks and the length of each track and edited the correct values with a binary hexadecimal editor into the midifile. The file was totally rescued by very simple changes. I found that this simple operations could be done very quickly by a
small computer program.

This program can add bad sectors of Maxtor 541DX(2B0X0H1) HDD into the factory defects list (P-LIST), up to 15,000 bad sectors can be added into the list at most. It is able to move defects from G-list to P-list, empty and reset both P-list and G-list, reset the HDD capacity and add your specific sector as defect into the P-list... The HDD restored would work just as a brand-new HDD: There will be no bad sector,and it could be partitioned and formatted at your will.
PLS note that you will lose the original data on the target HDD after you apply this program to the HDD. Therefore, make sure you backup your valuable data to another HDD before the restoration. This software is designed easy-to-use: just run the setup.exe file and create the application program on an empty 1.44Mbs floppy disk. The floppy disk created is self-booting, just boot the computer from the floppy disk drive the main program can be accessed.
