Leonardo Wilhelm DiCaprio (born November 11, 1974) is an Academy Award-nominated American actor well known for his roles in blockbuster movies such as Titanic (1997), William Shakespeares Romeo + Juliet (1996), The Aviator (2004), The Departed (2006) and Blood Diamond (2006), and was, as a young man, famed for his global celebrity influence dubbed as Leomania in the late 1990s. More recently he has worked regularly with director Martin Scorsese and has established himself as one of the top actors in Hollywood today.
Leonardo DiCaprios first big role was on the television series Growing Pains, and he got critical raves for his role in Whats Eating Gilbert Grape (1993, with Johnny Depp) but he really became a major star with his 1996 role in Romeo and Juliet.
