It is implemented as a DirectShow filter, using the native QuickTime codecs. By using QT codecs, it has the compatbility as the regular QT Player. It is compatible with all file types supported by QuickTime - including MOV, MP4, M4V, 3GP, 3G2, DV, AMR, M4A, animated GIF, and FLC animation.
However, it only uses the codecs from QuickTime, without the additional weight of the full QT. By using the standard, multi-threaded DirectShow architecture, it is fast and feels at home in Windows Media Player. Indeed, it is often much faster than the standard QT Player.
You have to have QuickTime installed. The filter uses the codecs from the QT installation.
Once installed, you can open mov, mp4, m4v, m4a, dv, 3gp, 3g2, amr, and flc files in Windows Media Player. It is not a seperate application software.
Note, it does not change the default file association. It enables WMP to play the QuickTime files types. However, it does not make WMP the default player for those file types. You can change them yourself.

The purpose of ReClock is to definitely get rid of jerky playback of AVI and MPEG material on a PC (or a PC connected to a TV).
Its a DirectShow filter which is loaded in place of the default directsound audio renderer.
It provides a new reference clock that is locked to the video card hardware clock, in order to ensure that frames are played at the exact speed of what is expected by the video card vertical sync.
It also provides a frame rate adaptator for media files that do not match a multiple of the video card refresh rate.
Finally it is an audio renderer with hardware or software rate adaptation in real-time, multi-channel audio, and dynamic range compression capabilities.
Known problems and issues :
- ReClock may not correct the good video clock for videocards with dual head capabilities or 2 RAMDACS (Matrox, GeForce4 MX, ...). If you have such a card, please read the readme for instructions
- On Windows 98, ReClock cannot always see that you change resolution of activate/desactivate TV-out while a video is playing. It is safer to quit your player before to do that, and relaunch it after.
- Graphedit cannot save a graph with ReClock when ReClock is selected as active reference clock
- Morgan Stream Switcher does not work with ReClock (wont load if ReClock is used)
- VSync correction and frame rate detection will not be possible when playback of DVD use DXVA mode

The aim of this project is to provide the most complete implementation of the xiph.org codecs for Windows and Directshow. This includes decoders and encoders for all the xiph.org formats as well as annodex. It is released under a BSD license, so they can be used by both open-source and commercial applications.
Besides the directshow filters which many people are familiar with. The source distribution also contains many useful tools, for debugging and validating ogg files, which build on multiple platforms. There is also a .NET media player class which can basically provide an "instant" media player in any .NET application, as well as an early implementation of an apache2 module which can provide server side seeking (currently only of annodex files, but soon also ogg files)
Installation
Uninstall any previous version of these filters.(This is important!)
Go to add remove programs, remove oggcodecs
Make sure media player or any directshow applications are closed.
Run the installer.
