The Adept for Oracle client must run on a Windows based PC but the database can be hosted on any type of server as long as the PC can map a drive to the database server. A subscription option allows the backups and exports to be automatically copied to a secure offsite storage location. The customer must register to receive the free registration key to activate the product. A nag screen will appear on startup and every 5 days if the product is not purchased but will continue to operate.
