Free edit hex software for windows

RegEx Edit is a tool which lets you edit and debug regular expressions (RegEx) so you can avoid unexpected errors when using them in other applications.

- Insert/delete bytes, instead of just editing existing ones. Which includes being able to change the size of the file.
- Store all the edits in memory until the user is ready to save instead of forcing them to save when the move the cursor off the block of the file in memory.
- Insert/paste file at cursor.
- Cut/copy/paste.
i.Hex is a software that allows you view and edit HTML files.
Main features:
- Doesnt load all the file at once. Just a pane of 64K is loaded at any given time, thus it can edit/view very large files almost instantly.
- Recent file menu.
- Doesnt use the registry.
Usage
- Open a file using the File->Open menu, the toolbar button or drop a file onto the window. If nothing happens, the file is locked by another application.
- The offset is the number of bytes into the file the cursor is. You can seek to a particular offset by typing in the new value and hitting enter.
- The hex option changes the format of the offsets both the cursor and the labels down the left hand side. When switched on the format is hex, and you enter an offset in hex, otherwise enter the offset in decimal.
- The little endian option changes the byte order of the information at the cursor (display on the right most part of the toolbar). Little endian is the x86 processor format, big endian is Apple/Motrola order.
- Signed changes the info format to signed values.
- Once you have edited the document you can save your changes if you need to. If you move the cursor far enough away from the edits then you will be asked to save your changes, this is because only part of the file is in memory at any given time. This is a side effect of the implementation I used to allow any size files.
- Use the Tab key to swap focus between the hex and ascii pane. The pane with the focus has a slightly thicker cursor line.

Custom tools
- You can also add any custom tool to Source Edit tools menu and toolbar. This is usefull for example when you want to compile your code. This feature also supports capturing of any output from the application you call. This output may be shown in the Output Window.
- If your compiler supports EMAC-style output
- Source Edit will also highlight the line in the editor where any errors or warnings has occured in the code when you click on the message in the Output Window.
RGB Mixer
- Quick and easy color mixer for web developers.
Bookmarks
- Source Edit supports any number of bookmarks in your code or document. Simply add a bookmark and you can then return to that part of the text with the click of a button. This is very handy when youre working with large documents.
Customizable
- Source Edit is highly customizable. You can change or set keyboard shortcut to all commands available. You can change how code is colorized. You can also set the "file mapping". By file mapping you associate different file types to different languages. So when you open or save a file with a *.cpp extention, for example, Source Edit will immediately use the C/C++ color coding. You are also able to change what files are shown in the Open and Save As dialog boxes.
Projects/Workspaces
- With the new Projects menu (new in version 1.2) you can add different Workspaces. You can add several files to one Workspace and by opening that Workspace all files will be opened at the same time.
Search and Replace in Files
- Source Edit reports in which file/files the search for text exists and on which line. You may then open the file and Source Edit will jump to the correct line.
