Where plain-text encompasses every data-format that is not binary, especially source-code or XML-documents.
Egg is similar to XSLT, Velocity or JSP but emphasises source-code generation in a model-driven, generative development-process. Runs on Windows or Unix with Java.
Basically, you can think of EGG as something like an XSLT-processor that transforms XML-input into plain-text output based on a transformation-stylesheet. With EGG this transformation is defined in an EGG-template, that contains the plain-text patterns for the resulting output and the logic for reading and transforming the XML-input.
You can write your transformation logic in Java and all plain-text patterns just as they should look like in the generator-output. You define the control-flow of your generator as a sequence of statements in an imperative way and not rule-based as in XSLT.
EGG reads your generator-template and converts it into a java-class. Then, EGG compiles this generator-class and produces a simple startup-script for your generator. Run this startup-script with a XML-file as input to perform your xml-to-text transformation and to produce your concrete plain-text output.
EGG is worth a try, if you think that:
- keeping your data in XML is a good thing to do,
- transforming this data should be done automatically,
- XSLT is conceptionally fine, but awkward and annoying for more complex transformations.
EGG is made especially for:
- generation of source-code,
- supporting generative programming and
- integration in an iterative software-development process.

Falcon application is used to measure an Internet server reliability. Falcon works by implementing an automated ping service which transits connections between a local and a remote computer.
Tests are measured by the software application and reported to the console. Optionally, tests can be uploaded to a public database maintained by Caracolix Media for www sharing.
Tests can be accomplished only by site owners or people that has writing access rights to the websites root directory. Falcon cannot be used to attack websites by other means.
Falcon will show several reports on screen immediately after analyzing the ping response.The ping response is also known as pong. Falcon gives the correct measure of time from the time the ping was sent until the egg is received. This response is given in seconds.
One of the main differences with other ping tools is that Falcon reports not only the time elapsed while the ping request travels between servers but also the time the target server spends looking for, retrieving and delivering the egg. The sum of all those timings is what really matters because that is what visitors to your site will have to wait (in average) for each page request.

Egg-Timer Counter 1.1 offers an effective tool having the up-down arrows for mange the start time, or enter the start time using the keyboard.
How to use:
- Use the "Timer/Set..." Menu to open the dialog to set the timer. Use the up-down arrows to adjust the start time in hours (0 to 99), minutes (0 to 59) and seconds (0 to 59), or enter the start time using the keyboard. Press the 'Set' button to set the timer to the selected start time. Then use the "Timer/Start" and "Timer/Stop" menus to start and stop the timer. Once the count-down has ended, an alert window will open and system beeps will be played in 1 second intervals until the alert window is dismissed by pressing the 'OK' button.
- At any time, use the "View/Toggle Fullscreen" menu to switch between windowed and fullscreen mode.
- While the timer is running, any active screensaver will be suspended.
Enhancements:
- Changed name from "Egg Timer" to "Egg-Time Counter" due to an existing app with the same name.

Scrambled eggs is an action-puzzle game emulating a popular style of hex-grid color matching arcade games. To play, aim the egg-launcher left and right with the arrow keys or joystick, and press spacebar or a joystick button to launch the egg.
