ELM-VE is a server-client system which provides 3D virtual environments based on Java. The virtual environment is simple, but it has high extendibility.
Users can construct their original class and insert its instance into the virtual space.
ELM-VE has three clients (text based client, Swing based client and Java3D based client) and these clients can access the same server at the same time.
Users can construct a new type of client, if they wish.
ELM-VE lets the users implement educational virtual environments or simple physical simulations.

Sense TO RSS 1.0.2

Sense TO RSS 1.0.2

Create namespace extended RSS Feeds with optional item description styling in HTML using the Sense To RSS tool to transform Sense documents to RSS XML. With the tool comes Apple itunes-Podcast, blogChannel, RSS 2.0 and 0.91 beginner templates. more>>
Make extended RSS Feeds with the Sense To RSS tool without committing to a purpose made RSS Feed Editor application and without knowledge of both XML and HTML!
RSS feeds are edited in plain text within Sense, Silva Elms tree structured document editor: the Sense To RSS tool transforms Sense "feed" documents to RSS XML.
Beginner templates for 0.91, 2.0, blogChannel and Apple itunes-podCast feeds are provided with the Sense To RSS tool to immediately create your first feed: annotations and specification links are provided to help speed entry of feed content.
Sense "feed" documents are tree structured with section and paragraph objects appropriately organised to allow transformation to RSS XML using the Sense To RSS tool.
RSS item descriptions can be structured using sections, paragraphs, bullets, (thumbnail) images, internet hyperlinks and email addresses to provide optional HTML styling wrapped into CDATA blocks of the feed output.
Extra RSS items are easily created by copy-paste replication within the Sense Content Browser view with all text editing carried out within the complementary Edit Workspace.
Feeds can be straightforwardly extended in plain text providing a level of future-proofing against RSS specification change and allows customization of the templates with additional feed entries and namespaces.
Application Notes within the Silva Elm website examples extensibility by the inclusion of the xmlns:atom namespace to a RSS "feed" document as well as providing more general information on how document objects relate to XML and HTML.
Sense To RSS is a simple to use tool designed with an intuitive user interface to create feeds from an initial selection of Sense document templates. The ready for Feed Validation output is displayed within an integral webbrowser view as either the raw XML or as a web page.

System Requirements: .NET 2.0

Enhancements: Added namespace extensibility support with additional templates for blogChannel and itunes-podCast.

tkbiff 3.20

tkbiff 3.20

tkbiff is yet another program to report new mail that has as its claim to fame a high degree of configurability more>>
tkbiff is yet another program to report new mail that has as its claim to fame a high degree of configurability tkbiff is yet another program to report new mail that has as its claim to fame a high degree of configurability.
You can configure it to display messages, show pictures, play sounds, or order pizza. Everything associated with the user interface can be changed - colors, key bindings, this message, everything! The configuration is usually stored in C:/Users/YourUser/tkbiff.cfg. The reminder of this message describes the default configuration.
The default configuration is intended to allow very fast message browsing while taking very little screen real estate.
tkbiff comes with a very pleasant default configuration. The default configuration is aimed at three things:
- Speed and Convenience
tkbiff lets you browse mail with a single mouse click - particularly convenient if you normally use heavy-duty mail readers (such as Outlook Express, Messenger, and Emacs VM) which can be slow and in states where it is inconvenient to rearrange window configurations just to peek to see if a mail message is worth spending more time looking at.
- Feedback and Flexibility
Playing a sound is traditional - providing a fast way of finding out who mail is from without having to shuffle through windows or look at the screen in the first place. But tkbiff can do other things on receipt of a message: pop it up automatically, display the senders icon, or even order pizza.
tkbiff can also decide what to do based on the sender, whether you were listed in the To: line (versus Cc:), or how many times the word "pizza" was mentioned (and if it was cheese or pepperoni).
- Minimal screen real-estate
tkbiff avoids unnecessary frills such as mailbox icons or postage stamp icons or borders inside of borders inside of borders. All you see is your mail and in a clear, obvious, and accessible way. Of course, if you really want glorious 3d highlights, huge fonts, lots of borders, animations, etc., tkbiff can provide that too.
Main features:
- tkbiff runs on UNIX, Windows, and MacOS.
- tkbiff supports SSL/TLS (encryption and certification) connections.
- tkbiff supports IMAP and POP. Sockets are not left idle.
- tkbiff supports (but does not require) the optional POP commands: UIDL, TOP (for efficiency) and APOP (for security).
- tkbiff supports (but does not require) the optional IMAP command: STARTTLS.
- tkbiff supports most UNIX mail formats (Maildir, mbx, mbox, mboxrd, mboxo, mboxcl, mboxcl2, emacs-rmail/babyl) and interoperates with all known mail clients.
- tkbiff is fully event-driven and includes an easy to use trace facility. So if tkbiff seemingly hangs, you can ask what its waiting for and it will tell you. (Great for giving your ISP clear and constructive suggestions about their flakey network or misbehaving IMAP server!)
- tkbiff requires no special permissions to install or run.
- tkbiff needs no compilation.
- tkbiff wont interfere with other biffs. You can let your old biff continue running if you want to compare them side by side.
- tkbiff understands problematic mail such as missing or duplicate message ids, bare From lines, directories that live on caching NFS servers, etc.
- tkbiff understands mail clients such as elm which do creative things with file access times or temporarily remove messages and then put them back.
- tkbiff can be used to monitor multiple mail files simultaneously.
- tkbiff can monitor new or old mail files. (Some people find tkbiff so convenient that they use it as a fast browser on static mail files or folders.)
- tkbiffs configuration file is portable. So your configuration will work the same way on all platforms (unless, of course, you configure it not to :-)
- tkbiff can take advantage of any system-specific features. (If you want to have tkbiff control your proprietary audio player, tkbiff will be happy to do so.)
- If you design a nifty configuration, you can redistribute tkbiff with your configuration.
- tkbiff understands all the usual X arguments (-display, etc) and has built-in support to redirect audios back to the client when running remotely.
- tkbiff can be used in public environments - where the OS doesnt know who you are. In such situations, tkbiff records no identifying information and will prompt for it by default.
- For most sites, tkbiff takes about 1 minute to install.
- tkbiff can run with or without a GUI - or totally without a user-interface (i.e., as an autonomous agent).
System requirements:
- tkbiff requires Tcl/Tk
