Two GREPs that edit text on any PC with MSDOS more>> Greppes are GREPs that Edit with many options. They are programming or admin tools for Investigation and Change of any files on ANY PCs that use DOS. They are oriented towards English byte characters but can be adapted for other languages to include UNICODE double bytes. PDGREPPE is Pattern Definition GREP with Pattern Editing FGREPPE is Fast or Fixed GREP with Pattern Editing. Each uses (CLI) Command Line Interface and can be customised for International Text bytes, data logging, default directories, environment and custom filter shell commands. Both can edit by interactive or automatic modes with full respect for file-sharing properties. Uses DOS 8.3, IFS or Long File Names on command line or CLI extension file. Options are available by menus of FILE, VIEW, SEARCH, REPLACE, MISC and HELP. PDGREPPE has other menus for pattern DEFINITIONS. PDGREPPE searches by Extended Regular Expressions similar to EGREP on UNIX systems. It can reuse search patterns from user created definition files, employ (MarkedGroups) of pattern data that may be reused later by optional user specified reference names in search and replace patterns. Magic or wildcard symbols and formats are like those in other GREPS and PERL. They include most standard punctuation characters "^$[].(){}#%-/;!?*+&|~`@:,="and backslash "\" that represent data positions, ranges of characters (sets), ANY byte, Marked and Unmarked Groups, reuse of Marked Group patterns, positive and negative Repititions, OR and AND operators, control, literal file inclusion and separation. These allow searches to be made for imprecise alternate forms of data. FGREPPE is more simple like FGREP on UNIX systems and does a search and replace based on FIXED patterns. Improve Performance: Proxy servers can dramatically improve performance for groups of users. This is because it saves the results of all requests for a certain amount of time. Consider the case where both user X and user Y access the World Wide Web through a proxy server. First user X requests a certain Web page, which well call Page 1. Sometime later, user Y requests the same page. Instead of forwarding the request to the Web server where Page 1 resides, which can be a time-consuming operation, the proxy server simply returns the Page 1 that it already fetched for user X. Since the proxy server is often on the same network as the user, this is a much faster operation. Real proxy servers support hundreds or thousands of users. The major online services such as Compuserve and America Online, for example, employ an array of proxy servers.
Minimizes ISP bandwidth use.
Filter Requests: Proxy servers can also be used to filter requests. For example, a company might use a proxy server to prevent its employees from accessing a specific set of Web sites.

The Bitmap to Icon Wizard will allow you to create high-quality, multi-size icons from bitmap files. It is designed primarily for the creation of program icons. It supports generation of icons with transparency: even 32-bit, alpha-channel transparency.
Bitmap2icon takes a large bitmap, which must have a clearly defined background colour if the icon is to have transparent areas. Bitmap2icon supports four colour depths (32-bit with alpha channel, 24-bit, 8-bit, and 4-bit) and five icon sizes (256x256, 48x48, 32x32, 24x24, and 16x16).
The large bitmap you supply is automatically resampled to produce these device images. If you have enabled transparency, it generates the standard/alpha mask in this resizing process.
The application employs an optimized octree to generate 256-colour images. It dithers 256 and 16 colour images using Floyd-Steinberg. You can choose which colour depths and sizes to use in your icon file.

With the ever increasing number of programs that employ some form of Winice detection, it is our hope to provide you with at least a basic protection against these methods. Do not expect too much from this little tool as there are really countless ways of both detecting and crashing Winice.
IcePatch lets you change the following magic values and names:
-INT3/FGJM (backdoor interface from the good old DOS age) - this interface is used by dldr and wldr to communicate various commands to winice.
- INT3/BCHK (backdoor interface for BoundsChecker) - this interface is used by BoundsChecker to communicate various commands winice. If you have BoundsChecker then you will have to patch it manually...
- INT68/4300/F386 (system debugger installation check) - the INT68 interface is used by the VMM to communicate with a system debugger which winice pretends to be (in real mode).
Note that this method is not winice specific, it detects any system debugger.
Programs that wish to communicate with a system debugger will fail when you change this magic number.
- INT41/004F/F386 (system debugger installation check) - the INT41 interface is used by the VMM to communicate with a system debugger which winice pretends to be (in protected mode).
