The eXe project is developing a freely available Open Source authoring application to assist teachers and academics in the publishing of web content without the need to become proficient in HTML or XML markup.

eXe is a tool that can export content as self-contained web pages or as SCORM 1.2 or IMS Content Packages.

Note: The Mac OSX version of eXe is still experimental and should be considered
unstable.

XM EXE description
Basically, XM-EXE was designed to attach the XM to a Windows playback program Ever wanted to send that cool XM to your villiage idiot of a friend? They dont have an XM player? They dont know how to get one? They wouldnt know what to do even if they did have one? ... STOP! ... Dont jump, help has arrived!

OK, maybe not! But, thats what this bunch of bytes allows. Basically, XM-EXE was designed to attach the XM to a Windows playback program. XM-EXE also compresses the XM to generally produce a smaller EXE file even with the playback code. Should you wish to do so, you can extract the original file(s) from the created EXE. The EXE will even tell you if its been infected by a virus! XM-EXE supports XM/MOD/S3M/IT/MTM files.

XM-EXE also got the best (most accurate to FT2) XM reproduction to be heard outside of FT2 itself. All features/effects (including several FT2 quirks) are 100% supported. The IT reproduction is also practically balls-on, with full support for all effects/NNA/DCA/filters etc...

For ease of use, XM-EXE is actually a DOS executable. So, to create an EXE file from a XM file, you can simply run XM-EXE with the XM filename in the command-line.

SplitAndJoin exe description
SplitAndJoin.exe - Split and rejoin large text or binary files, limited only by open disk space SplitAndJoin.exe - Command line, batch mode, or drag and drop modes. If file name ends in dot and digits, program seeks other files in same series and joins them. Otherwise, program divides file into pieces of user specified size, and builds optional *.bat file for rejoining.

For large files, program can join pieces many times as fast as the *.bat file. Program has been tested on *.exe and *.zip files above 21 Gigabyte size. Only limit is available disk space.

Limitations:

· 180 days trial / 10 runs

All new executables, introduced via any media source. (physical or removable drives, network shares, USB drives, Internet ftp etc.) will not launch unless it is listed within your administrative "Allowed" executables list.

A compact, instant, network-messaging application for a LAN. Due to its small size and simplicity, Stickit has very little impact on network traffic and has proven to be an ideal instant messaging tool. The only requirement for its use isthat the network must have TCP/IP running. No install, just run Stickit.exe.

The eLearning XHTML editor (eXe) is a web-based authoring environment designed to assist teachers and academics in the design, development and publishing of web-based learning and teaching materials without the need to become proficient in HTML, XML or complicated web-publishing applications.

The Web is a revolutionary educational tool because it presents teachers and learners with a technology that simultaneously provides something to talk about (content) and the means to hold the conversation (interaction).

Unfortunately, the power of this hypertext medium is constrained in educational settings because the vast majority of teachers and academics do not have the technical skills to build their own web pages, and must therefore rely on the availability of web developers to generate professional looking online content.

Limitations:

· Traditionally web-authoring software entails a steep learning curve; it is not intuitive and the applications were not designed for publishing learning content. Consequently teachers and academics have not adopted these technologies for publishing online learning content. eXe aims to provide an intuitive, easy-to-use tool that will enable teachers to publish professional web pages for learning;
· Currently, learning management systems do not offer sophisticated authoring tools for web content (when compared to the capabilities of web-authoring software or the skills of an experienced web developer). eXe will develop a tool that provides professional web-publishing capabilities that can be easily referenced or imported by standards compliant learning management systems;
· Most content management and learning management systems utilize a centralized web server model thus requiring connectivity for authoring. This is limiting for authors with low bandwidth connectivity or no connectivity at all. eXe will be developed as an offline authoring tool without the requirement for connectivity.
· Many content management and learning management systems do not provide an intuitive wysiwyg environment where authors can see what their content will look like in a browser when published, especially when working offline. eXe will mimic wysiwig functionality enabling users to see what the content will look like when published online.

Whats New in This Release:

· Recent versions of eXe have added the ability to embed images and media (audio and video files) into the iDevice template structure.
· Images and media can be used not only in the main field of each iDevice, but in the subfields like "Feedback" as well.
· There have been many bugfixes over the past few months.
· RPMs for Fedora (both Fedora Core 6 and Fedora 7) are being built again.
