All you need to do is put all your important files in a few directories (note: entire drives can be ZIPped up and sent to the backup drive) and defrag that backup drive after each update and if you want to be playful enough, note down the first sector of file(s) or if you want 100 percent safety, save the subdirectory having your important data as a file somewhere else. If it is the Boot Sector or the 1st FAT sector or both that is/are damaged, you can use RECOVER Fixed/Floppy Disk to recover your files. If ROOT FOLDER got damaged, if your disk analysis shows that first few sectors are good, you can use RECOVER Fixed/Floppy Disk.
